Ich bin erst lange nach dem Krieg geboren. Trotzdem schäme ich mich dafür, was Menschen meines Landes anderen angetan haben. Solch grausamen Dinge, solche Verzweiflung, Not, Schmerz, Tod, Leid, Vertreibung, Folter haben Menschen meines Landes verursacht. Ich schäme mich so sehr dafür und es tut mir so leid, dass das alles geschehen ist und zum Teil auch heute noch geschieht. Hier und in anderen Ländern. Auch wenn ich nicht viel Jiddisch verstehe, kann ich doch mit der Melodie und den Bildern die große Trauer und Schwere fühlen, die durch diese Taten verursacht wurden. Unerträglich, wie Menschen mit anderen umgehen können.

Es ist eine traurige Melodie. Dies ist es aber nicht nur. Es ist auch eine lebendige Gemeinschaft. Nach der dunklen Zeit gab es und gibt es einen neuen Anfang, so wie wir Menschen wirklich leben sollen.
