This is pretty cool for 1984. I've never seen this game before. It surely was the inspiration for modern day fighting games...

Omg 😲 😱 i never could remember the name of this!! I played it as a kid and it was my favorite 😍 i rode my bicycle to 7-11 to play it in the 80s. Thank you for this video!

Think of it as "One Two Kung Fu" Yie means One, Ar means Two. (1-10 translates as Yie, Ar, San, Si, Oo, Liu, Jie, Ba, Jiu, Shi in Mandarin.)

@@ktoescos I respect them, I played in the arcades as a kid, my childhood was in the 80s, but saying what the comment in this thread said before they changed it, that the games of before were better than those of now, was a lack of respect to the entire video game industry, that's why I answered like that.

This isn't what the game looked like when playing the Arcade game. I plunked so many quarters into that machine, it was great action for an early fighting game with so many fighting styles for its time.

I look back in embarrassment now, my mom feeding me tokens, me sucking at the game. We were poor but it was my birthday and we were at Major Magic’s. I later got good at the game, but by then I found my own tokens. I miss her now, she couldn’t get us things other kids had but little things like my birthday at Major Magic’s, even though she couldn’t really afford it- I won’t forget. I did get to show her I owned Bosconian, when you got high score it lit up like Christmas and practically broadcasted it throughout the arcade.

Oh My Gracious! Talk about simpler times with outstanding simpler games! This was one of the most "have to play" games while out at Pizza Hut (not "The Hut" of today, as y'all know it) or Shakey's. We used to hit these spots or the main Arcades (another thing of the past) just for this game and a few others. And yes, I am telling my age. I was so glad when PS5 put it out as Arcade Classics for purchasing. Oh yeah, I just had to cop. Nostalgia at it's greatest!

I remember One Two Kung Fu from my dad's friend's video arcade. When I would visit, he would give me a handful of quarters that I wasted on this game and I was too young to really understand how it was played. That and it wasn't really obvious to my little kid brain how it was played.

Well well, if it isnt one of my favorite arcade games from my childhood, Nut-shot Kung Fu. Unlike Kung Fu Master, this game was challenging. Hard as i tried i could never defeat Tonfun. Great post, thanks for the memories.
It would be awesome if they made a version of this that allows you to play any character. Or another version that allows blocking.

This guy plays terrible. You can hit Star's shrukiens to gain points and extra lives. Same as Chain's chain and Fan's fans :-) Each one has its own tactics to beat. For Tonfun you must jump to one corner, hit lower corner kick and jump to the other side, even if you didn't hit. Hit another lower corner kick and jump again, rinse and repeat. For Blues (Bruce Lee we called him) just hit ordinary middle kick and go back. Jump to the other corner if u get trapped. When he has 3 hits left, he makes a jump and changes routine and middle kicks don't work. From tihs point its all gung ho and button bashing. Hopefully you beat him. I spent many many coins back in the day, but couldn't beat second Blues.
