It was to this excellent tune that Yigdal was sung on the Chagim where I grew up in the north of England. Yet I never heard it sung in any London synagogue, so perhaps it did not break through the "Watford Gap". It is wonderful the Shabbaton Choir has presented this moving and evocative rendering to the discerning public - thank you!

@@alanthefoot The different tune for each of the Chagim seems to be the practice in the practice in London synagogues I visited. I believed that they were the work of the same composer, Julius Mombach, choirmaster of the London Great Synagogue of Dukes Place for much of the nineteenth century. The much-loved RH/YK tune for Yigdal I have heard has Sephardi roots. This one I've heard on the Chagim in Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham, but not beyond the southern end of Watford Gap.
