You could've done u instead of D on third pair and did: R U' R' d to step up to easy vls case Which is: F R' F' U R U R U' R' with a pll skip and no auf which is 23 moves and could've gotten him 1.6x

That was not a sub 3 fail. There would not have been any WR single here. Yiheng uses the different alg for OLL 39. So this WR single would never happened

Hey Brian, i need a little advice I don't understand how to choose the right F2l pair or (efficient) pair during solves i mean if i have to choose the correct pair or (efficient) pair i have to look for it that means i have to pause and i will get bad times, or is it related to lookahead. the crazy thing is that I would have done the same cross. I wouldn't have planned everything the xxxcross in inspection tho so I would get messed up after realizing I solved almost all of f2l in 1 sec and fumble the whole solve. I would get like an 8, which is still a pretty good time for me.

brother if you had this scramble you literally wouldn’t even see a quarter of what yiheng saw. Maybe this is lucky for him but being able to take advantage of everything first has nothing to do with luck, its all skill and cube knowledge tldr: you just have a massive issue also “luck is when opportunity meets preparation.” yihend had an opportunity, and boy was he prepared.

stop capping, you prob wouldn't get a sub 5 even with a double x cross.... And you're like I would have seen the double, x cross. You do realize with pressure/nerves in competitions, even the top cubers can miss out on easy stuff. Meaning even you can possibly miss out on things during official solves. and with that said it is absolutely agree it's luck and preparation with records, it's always luck and preparation and to be honest there's no reason to complain here

I think he needs good times in almost all categories to call him that, otherwise he would just be the best 3x3 of all time
