Happy Birthday Meko. YIIK is an absolute mess of a game with bad writing and unfun gameplay. A new update is coming along and we got a taste of what fun it will have. Twitch: / davidkvistine / davidkvistine Discord: / discord

One Steam user summarized the plot of this game perfectly: : "Its like Persona 3 but written by a Redditor"

Pretty damn accurate honestly

literally just got this randomly reccomended to me and i love your energy! i personally find YIIK to be a hit or miss, sometimes it can be hilarious and other times im sitting there with my eyes barely open just clicking trough dialogue i havent played IV yet but as a lover of surreal media, hearing that we get right into it makes me excited and thank the gods if they actually did something with the combat lol great video 🫶

Thanks for the lovely comment, the combat has def new potential compared to the sluggish combat in the og, but the demo doesn’t have enough combat in it to see if it gets better or worse

12:24 and you say that like its a bad thing? I think this scene is funny as hell
@Davidkvis99Ай бұрын
I think that sentence was funny too, but it still sounds stupid, I was more pointing out that the games writing will still remain the same.

@@Davidkvis99 i mean alex is kind of meant to be a massive asshole and a massive idiot, so i dont really see it as a bad thing at all. its funny when alex says dumb shit. Id struggle to call it bad writing

@@chippedgoatwell we can agree to disagree, I personally don’t enjoy it cuz it can be a bit too much and drag out but it’s fair if you like it, we all have our own tastes

5:30 In general YIIK becomes much more fun when you realize that Alex is intentionally annoying and that his pretentious monologues are supposed to be laughed at. A lot of the dislike comes from thinking that the writers earnestly thinks Alex sounds smart when he's a really dumb guy.
@Davidkvis99Ай бұрын
That’s fair and I did understand it like that, but it also makes it a slog to play through the game especially when it just gets annoying or down right awful with some stuff he says later on
@gabrielvincentelli12547 күн бұрын
There are ways to communicate that to the reader. Else they could have made his monologue more entertaining. It is post-modern, it is supposed to subvert expectation, they just didn't do it in the most skilled way.

@@gabrielvincentelli1254 post modernism is about subverting expectations?

@@chippedgoat not only, but yes it is one of it's core componants.
