Hello, Mark! I'm curious to finally read Wuthering Heights. I was thinking watching the Olivier movie first would help me understand it. TBD. ✌️😃

I can't help smiling when I think of Oliver [the movie]. Great songs.

Lovely little haul. I'm so used to hearing Brits call them "charity shops," so "thrift shop" took me off guard even though that's what I call them. 😅
@book-ramble2 ай бұрын
Lol. Op Shop is THE New Zealand term ... as in Opportunity Shop.

@@book-ramble I like that one too. Seems there's no bad name for these occasional treasure troves.

What a great haul, Mark. You certainly found some lovely treasures. I don't seem to be able to find classics in the charity shops near me for some reason. Someone is certainly beating me to them.😄 I read Wuthering Heights a number of times but not recently so I shall look forward to you discussing it. It's always interesting to hear someone else's perspective on a book that you've read yourself. I recently re read Jane Eyre and although I enjoyed it, I did prefer Wuthering Heights. I agree with you about Dickens. Certainly, some of his books are easier to read than others. His character building is superb, though. I hope you enjoy Oliver Twist ☺️ As always, looking forward to your next video and hearing your thoughts on all those wonderful books!! 😃

Thanks! Yes... I happen to live in a moderately well read community. Long may that continue. I will have to read Jane Eyre again, having recently read Wide Sargasso Sea. [I'll keep an eye out for another copy to ramble over]. A great segue there. As to character you are correct. Dickens is great at that. Cheers!

Great to hear that you are able to pick up such fantastic books in your area. It's great for us all, too as we get to hear you discuss them.☺️ I've not read the Wide sargasso sea. I shall look forward to a rambling on that! ☺️
@book-ramble2 ай бұрын
@@zoenorman9846 Thanks! Yes, Wide Sargasso Sea has a great premise = take an old classic and do a prequel that blends into it. In this cast 'the mad woman in the attic.'
@zoenorman98462 ай бұрын
I agree, a great premise.☺️ I really don't understand why I haven't gotten to this one yet. I guess, it's another one for my ever increasing tbr. There are so many on my list now!! 😆

Nice, classy picks. Lady Bumfiddle... does she have an Onlyfans? Asking for a friend. I too enjoy reading 10 books at the same time. Less now than before. Only because I would seemingly finish them all around the same time and then go weeks without completing anything. I still keep a few half read books around, bit of a guilty pleasure.
