Well, we hate Trump, he's a gross clown, but the democrats are nuts in different ways (allowing men in women's spaces and advocating for surgeries on minors, changing Titel IX to include gender identity which means any man can identify as woman and come into our spaces legally). So especially for women voting in America was a double-edged sword.

The other government parties wanted to raise enormous debts to give Ukraine money. Hardly any German wants that. We have extreme problems with illegal migration and the associated violence. on the other hand, nothing is done, instead it is ensured that even more people come. people who are obliged to leave the country do not have to leave the land and continue to receive money. some of these people live here with a number of identities to collect multiple times. The money is sent home, where some of these people go on vacation. They go on vacation in the countries from which they fled. our economics minister openly admits that he is testing the population to what extent people are willing to wear climate protection. he wanted to force people to install heat pumps. this government acted purely from ideoloz drive and not in the interests of the citizens. I dont really like Scholz but removing Lindner from office and therefore ending the coalition is a thing I can respect him for. The FDP (Lindners Party) is the junior partner of the SPD and yet they blocked and publically complained about legislation which has already been agreed on in the coalition papers non stop for the past years, which has amplified the distrust in our government. They are stuck in their ideology and resist building bridges while their popularity is plummeting and they drag their coalition partners down with them. Scholz has been way to passive these past few years and it has been long overdue that the SPD and Greens stop letting themselves get bullied around by a party that is unceirtain if they even make it into the next Bundestag. Even if it means ending the coalition and making way for snap elections.

All the FDP wanted (and written in coalition contract) is a legal budget plan not breaking German or European law. SPD and Greens just want to print money they don't have because they don't understand capitalism and prefer socialist ideology. The budget problem won't disappear with another minister of finance. There were enough possibilities of a compromise, Lindner was open to debate but Scholz not so who is the ideologist then?
@TheBonecrusherz
@TheBonecrusherz 21 күн бұрын
Thats simply wrong. Lindner and the FDP did what their voters expected them to do. The FDP was always straightforward with their "ideology" as you call it. They want a strong economy, low taxes high autonomy for the citizens, and no more debt. They always said this. The SPD and the greens, on the other hand, want to waste the resources of their citizen to push moronic ideology driven projects that can't really be financed. So that's why the SPD and the greens wanted to go further in debt. They expected the FDP to break their promises and allow this to happen and lindner did the only right thing and declined. Olaf got butthurt and decided to fire him but this won't help nobody, they won't get enough votes to pass their stupid projects and they lose even more public support.

Government coalitions of parties are like relationships between two people, because when they fail it is never just the fault of one party or one person and it is not just the result of a single event; these are slow processes. But everyone always blames each other. Behaving in an adult manner even in the moment of failure is not always possible for everyone. Another similar thing is that either the people or the relatives start to talk about it and everyone thinks they know everything better, even if they were rarely present at the discussions and conflicts and therefore cannot know all the real background details. Most of the time, nobody cares about reasons or backgrounds because, for ideological or friendship reasons, people or friends always prefer to be only on one side.

The first dispute about compulsory vaccination January 2022: Not much time passes before the first major traffic light dispute. The federal government took over the business during the pandemic. As Chancellor-designate, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is already in favor of introducing a general vaccination requirement, and the Greens agree. There is German opposition from the FDP.April 6, 2022: The Federal Cabinet approves the “Easter package” from Economics and Climate Protection Minister Habeck, which includes several changes to the law to accelerate the energy transition. However, the FDP government members only agree “with reservations”. The FDP parliamentary group wants to renegotiate the package again.Weapons deliveries to Ukraine: How heavy can they be? Spring 2022: The traffic light begins to argue about the extent of arms deliveries to Ukraine. The FDP and the Greens spoke out early on about supplying heavy weapons, but Scholz and the SPD put the brakes on it. January 2023: Germany is now delivering heavy weapons to Ukraine. The pressure on Chancellor Scholz to agree to the delivery of Leopard 2 main battle tanks is increasing. The FDP defense politician Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann calls Scholz’s communication a “catastrophe”. SPD parliamentary group leader Rolf Mützenich takes on the resistance and accuses those in favor of tank deliveries of “outrage rituals” and “snappingSpring 2023: The dispute over the planned heating law is putting the traffic light coalition to a test. A preliminary draft of the law was pushed through in February, probably to sabotage Economics Minister Habeck's project. Not only the opposition, but also the liberals are shooting against the economics minister. Deputy FDP leader Wolfgang Kubicki publicly compares Habeck with the Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin and apologizes for it a day later. The gossip from Karlsruhe October 8, 2023: The FDP is thrown out of the Bavarian state parliament in the state elections; in Hesse it is barely holding on despite heavy losses. FDP General Secretary Bijan Djir-Sarai announced that the coalition must “analyze what common understanding or whether we can develop a common understanding at all.” It sounds like a separation announcement. Since entering the traffic light, the Liberals have already suffered a number of electoral defeats: in 2022 they will be thrown out of the state parliament in Lower Saxony, and in Saarland they will again fail to gain entry. They are losing heavily in North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein.November 15, 2023: The Federal Constitutional Court rules that the traffic light's second supplementary budget for 2021 was unconstitutional. The traffic light coalition had moved 60 billion euros, which were originally planned to deal with the consequences of Corona but were not needed, into its “Climate and Transformation Fund” (KTF). According to the FDP, Lindner's trust in Scholz suffers a crack here. Scholz enforced the practice accepted by Karlsruhe against Lindner's concerns.Winter 2023: The traffic light coalition members have been discussing for weeks how they can get out of the budget crisis that they got into with the Constitutional Court ruling. There is a widespread suspicion in the SPD that Lindner actually wants to get out of the coalition. Shortly before Christmas, the traffic light agreed on a savings package. The proposed cuts in agricultural subsidies are triggering a massive wave of farmers' protests. December 11, 2023: At the request of almost 600 rank-and-file members, the FDP begins a member survey on whether the party will remain in the government coalition. The initiators want out, the FDP leadership is campaigning to stay. By the beginning of January, a narrow majority of 52.24 percent of the participating members voted to continue to govern. Red line debt brake January 6, 2024: At the FDP's Epiphany meeting, Lindner warns against badmouthing Germany. He clearly rejects calls from the SPD to suspend the debt brake through a new emergency resolution. The FDP sees the fact that the Social Democrats keep putting forward their proposal as a provocation.February 12, 2024: In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives, the FDP is thrown out of the capital's state parliament. FDP General Secretary Djir-Sarai announces that his party will insist even more strongly on its positions in the federal government. It is necessary “that the voice of the FDP must be even clearer than before”. Compromise, argument, compromise July 5, 2024: After months of argument, Scholz, Lindner and Habeck agree in principle on the 2025 federal budget and a growth package. August 2024: Barely a month after a compromise was found, the dispute starts again: a report commissioned by Lindner on the constitutionality of the draft budget is ready. There are problems, says Lindner and calls for renegotiations. Scholz intervenes from his vacation and objects. “It remains a mystery how the actually clear vote in the legal report could temporarily be fundamentally misunderstood,” he explains - the Chancellor’s first major public rebuke of the minister. After more days of negotiations, there is another compromise. September 2024: In the state elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg, the FDP does not even come close to the 5 percent hurdle. With well under 2 percent each, it is becoming a splinter party. The FDP is also below 5 percent in nationwide election surveys. In an interview, Lindner speaks of an “autumn of decisions” and leaves the question of where the traffic lights will remain open. His deputy Kubicki predicts that the traffic light coalition will no longer make it to ChristmasOctober 2024: The economic data is bad. The Chancellor is inviting people to an industrial summit on October 23rd. Not on the guest list: Scholz’s coalition partner. Christian Lindner organizes a counter-summit with other business associations that takes place almost simultaneously. Robert Habeck is making his mark in the dispute over traffic light economic policy by calling for an investment fund. Lindner's divorce petition November 1, 2024: An 18-page “economic paper” by Lindner becomes known. In it, the SPD leader calls for a fundamental shift in economic policy, with less climate protection, social cuts and a reckoning with the basic line of the SPD and the Greens. The coalition is talking about filing for divorce. A few days later, Economics Minister Habeck signaled his willingness to accommodate.November 3, 2024: Scholz and Lindner meet for a discussion in the Chancellery; beforehand, the Chancellor meets with the SPD leadership. In the following days there will be several crisis talks between Scholz, Lindner and Habeck. Topic: the budget and economic policy. November 4, 2024: The FDP is hosting another economic summit. The big bang at the end November 5, 2024: The private crisis talks in the Chancellery continue. Scholz explains that he believes an agreement is still possible. FDP man Kubicki tells broadcaster Welt: “If we find in this coalition that we can no longer find a common ground, a common line, then it is better not to govern than to govern poorly.November 6, 2024: In the morning, the cabinet passes numerous laws, including the implementation of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). Habeck, Lindner and Scholz then meet again. The coalition committee meets in the Chancellery at 6 p.m. Lindner demands that the coalition should decide together for new elections. The Chancellor is calling on Lindner to release more money in order to support Ukraine and the economy. He argues with the emergency caused by the war. Lindner refuses, he sees the debt brake in danger. Scholz pulls the ripcord: he throws Lindner out of the cabinet. At around 8:30 p.m. the traffic light coalition collapsed.

@JamesBray3 Christian Lindner was the Finance Minister and also the leader of the FDP, since he was fired that also meant that the FDP is out of the coalition, since the SPD and the Greens needed the FDPs to have a Majority (even though the FDP just bombarded almost all decisions that the Goverment coalition as a whole agreed upon by backtracking on their support for certain measure) the other two Parties can only continue as a minority government by pulling votes from other parties PMs, until there's either the vote of confidence or the next regular federal election (which is highly unlikely that they survive as a somewhat stable minority government until then). On the other hand, any day without a Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU leader) is a good day since 16 years of conservative CDU government brought Germany the many problems with crumbling infrastructure, bad public transport, needing to speed up energy transition etc that we face now and that the SPD, Greens, FDP coalition needed to tackle. Yes they did some bad stuff but they have actually met most of their goals, not all, but definitely some of the bigger ones.

The green energy transition here in Germany should be seen as a drop in the ocean. On the other hand, it is the most expensive and maintenance-intensive energy infrastructure we have. Especially the wind turbines, which often have to be operated with diesel, so that they do not rust (see Baltic Sea wind farm). In the job market it depends more on who is the boss. Some can no longer afford to employ Germans because they are too expensive. Others only employ migrants and guest workers in order to receive funding. The problem with our politicians (regardless of whether they are left or right) is that they stay in office after Expensive mistakes (in the past, many have voluntarily resigned because of their mistakes) and let the citizens pay the bills with ever-increasing costs (see Habeck and Scholz). Even if you want to emigrate from Germany you have to pay an “Wegzugssteuer” which they raised at the beginning of the year because many people are leaving the country. This tax was last raised under an German Kaiser. Even on the Otaku site here in Germany there are signs of censorship and bans. Sometimes because it's too spicy, sometimes because it's not political enough, but most of all because spineless and overpaid consultants just don't like anime and manga. But these are just my views. And I served in the military for 12 years and got around a lot doing assembly work.

Even if diesel is used for the operation, maintenance and repair of a wind farm, the statement that wind turbines often have to run on diesel is incorrect. I assume you are referring to the EWE offshore park, whose wind turbines had to run on diesel immediately after completion because the park could not be connected to the grid due to delays in laying the cable line caused by the discovery of bombs on the seabed. In addition, any energy infrastructure is maintenance- and cost-intensive, especially when it comes to new concepts. About 5 million non-German full-time workers are employed in Germany. These workers are mainly employed in the cleaning, food, and hospitality industries and have an average income that is about 22% lower than the average gross monthly salary in Germany. This is nothing new and, as far as I know, has not changed significantly in recent years. Politicians are not infallible. That's not a problem, that's just the way it is. Politicians are held accountable, especially for serious or "expensive" mistakes; within the party and/or committees, boards, courts, etc., at the latest at every new election. That's how it works in a democracy, and the citizens don't have to bear all the costs. The government has other sources of revenue besides taxes, and a national debt would also be hard to explain if taxpayers bore the full cost. The "Wegzugsteuer" (exit tax) is intended to prevent capital flight and to ensure that hidden reserves are taxed in Germany. This applies in particular to capital gains when a permanent move abroad is made and, for example, shares in a company based in Germany are subsequently sold. It is much more complex, but it is not the case that every emigrant has to pay tax on his departure. By the way, exit taxes are not unique to Germany. I can't say anything about your unnamed otaku site, but I'm relatively sure there's a less conspiratorial explanation than spineless and overpaid consultants don't like anime. Personally, I find it difficult to state alleged facts first and then write: But these are just my views.

@@SlickRhymes Little one, if you ever work on the coast or at sea for a long time, you will get to know the "fact" of what sea air can do to equipment and constructs. When Wind Turbines are still for a certain period of time, they run on diesel to Prevend Rust and other damages. And this happens on a daily or weekly basis depending on the arrangement or conditions. Whether they are on grid or not. I also don't work in cleaning, food, and hospitality industries. But worked in a shipyard and on construction sites? It's nice that you can read numbers from an article. But in these areas I worked ,I can be happy if someone speaks German or at least English. Doesn't mean they're bad people. But I'm not going to learn 10 foreign languages for better collaboration. I say seeing a foreman desperately looking for a translator for a language no one can identify during a firealarm is kind of funny. And do you think these guest workers care about the 22% less if they have savings on accommodation and supplies. But I admit that largely depends on the company and how they implement it. One resigns because of a written off work. Others throw millions of euros out the window, then put the state into more debt and continue to sit their time so that they can get a good pension. You can twist and turn it however you want, but this bloated and overpaid circus needs to be overhauled from the ground up. I don't care whether it's left or right, but anyone in Berlin who makes a mistake worth millions should at least show some backbone and take responsibility by resign or be responsible for the mistakes first. Especially when every normal thinking person can already see there it leads. And if you knew how democracy works, then you should at least frown when you look at the crap here in the country. As an example: If there is less than 50% voter turnout in a federal state, the parties fight over who has the power. If that is democracy then that also applies to a dictatorship. Or in which democracy does power come from the minority of the minority? The "Wegzugsteuer" also affects taxed savings and not just hidden reserves, stocks or companys. But yes, the topic is complex and reports range from "not worth mentioning" to "I've only been earning good abroad for 3 years and should pay back for 8 years based on 2023. WHY". But that could also be an official error by the Finanzamt. But until now my buddy has to pay the bill according to the current status. For the Unnamed Japanese Otaku site that was blocked in Germany. The strange thing was that the block came from the side itself but at the same time German customers were given every opportunity to circumvent this block. When inquiries were made to the site, it was only communicated to the extent that it had nothing to do with age ratings (since the site was willing to work on it), that it was not due to certain content (the site was willing to block this for German customers) and only pressure for This total ban is said to have come from an authority in Germany that they are not allowed or willing to name. Otherwise there would have been legal consequences for German customers of unknown reach (I don't know what was going on either, that's all I know and also received information from support). But since you can't find anything about an German authority here that worked or pushes on this things, I'm assuming it's a spineless individual who pressured it at his own discretion. And if you had been a customer on this otaku site for ten years for everything (OSTs, Anime, Manga, Games and yeah the Spicy stuff too). You would be pretty frustrated too. And if someone pulls something like that and isn't even human enough to be asked questions, it just creates anger. Simply put our minister of finance spent the entire duration of the current coalition doing opposition politics undermining the current governement on almost every topic, but particularly over his insistence on not making any debt for spending, which was complete nonsense since he was perfectly fine to do debt as long as he was using cheap bookkeeping tricks to not call it debt, which was the same thing except illegal. Anyways with the economy weakening additionally, to the energy crisis, the refugee crisis etc everyone else in the german government, economy, advisory positions etc basically is convinced debt spending is absolutely necessary and perfectly normal for a strong economy state like germany and the exceptions can be made, but he contiued to refuse to do it, while essentially already campaigining for the next election in opposition to the current governments program, which he is a part of. In one case seemingly by using the money of his ministry to spread information in support of his parties positions.

The Ampel party wanted to make big investments, lower the debt level and not raise taxes and they just never managed to square that circle, mostly because the FDP was unable to compromise on the debt thing (Germany has a very low debt level as it is, this country can afford to make some more debt to get through a difficult economic cycle and invest o get the economy moving and solve some of the country's problems) and were notoriously unreliable and untrustworthy. Constantly changing their mind on agreements, that had been made, backstabbing, handing to the media information on government plans, that were still in the planning phase and therefore only half baked. That's why they hadn't been presented to the public yet, because the plans were in an early stage and not mature enough yet to withstand public scrutiny. Tha way, the FDP was constantly sabotaging anything, the government, they were a part of, did. Germany is going though an economic slog, but because our debt is so low, money to solve some of our problems is not a problem (so long, as you invest it of course and don't just use it for consumptive spending, but that's a difference, that the FDP never made).

Germany has issues, but this step is not a catastrophy but a logical consequense of the lack of leadership the years before. The last comments you read about Germans complaining all the time and feeling too comfortable are quite accurate. We are doing still quite well, but without innovation and perhaps radical changes Germany will lose power in the EU. We are still arguing, what and who must change therefore I can stay as comfortable as I am now. Unfortunately I can’t see a party that solves the problems. Some are still too complicated, some find answers much to easily. When you visit us the next time, it would not be a big difference for you... perhaps a little more complaining : )

I don't really like our voting system here in Germany. For many years it didn't matter who you voted for, because there wasn't a majority Government in forever. And the same parties always end up in the same bed and nothing changes. In my opinion 3 times 20 % for example, doesn't count as the major opinion of voters. In the US you might have terrible choices like the election right now, but it IS the majority of voters and the parties do have different agendas. So as long as we don't have one party in charge here, nothing will change.

I don’t know if your title is correct there. If it really takes a turn for the worse, is to be seen and depends on the next election. Werther we get a government, that has to work across the aisle or not. Most likely scenario will be a coalition out of CDU/CSU and SPD at the moment. This coalition would be able to govern the full four years and probably bring enough stability to Germany so that we can say that things have slightly improved. But if we get a Jamaika coalition we would see the same instability. And personally I think this election comes at a very good time. A lot has happened since the last election and now that Trump has been elected as President in the US, we will have to grow up as a nation and be independent from the USA. That is something we need to talk about now.

Don't get this wrong: The former coalition did achieve a lot of their goals to which they agreed within the coalition contract. Surely, everyone had to make big compromises from time to time but they really worked on a lot of the stuff that the former conservative governments simply ignored. But what really sucked and what did turn out to ruin their days were the awfully PR and the bad communication work. If you start to spit poison unto your colleagues or your superiors you will very likely end up getting fired within a business environment. This is just bad style. And this is why the government that achieved the most critical successes since decades are - at the same time - the most hated government since decades. But don't forget: I am german and therefor I am used to sit out useless conservative governments that take care of having another four years of stagnation. There is always a next election! ;-)

I don't get the "resistance to change" thing. Actually the complete opposite is true, because most Germans do want a change of government now. I also don't hear anyone "complaining" about that. And also on political issues the people do want changes for ages. That's why after the last election most people were glad that there was finally a different government than CDU/CSU/SPD that would actually improve (=change) more things, but now it turned out to be failing during the last 1-2 years. (And the ones who vote for CDU/CSU/SPD are mostly old people, but that has nothing to do with how Germans think in general. They are only a problem because old people represent more and more the majority due to the aging population demographic issue.) That paragraph is complete unrelated nonsense and only conveys personal stereotypical opions of that so-called "expert"...

To help an American understand the shifting political center in Germany, I use US politicians and where I see them from the perspective of a US citizen and a German! Under Chancellor Merkel, the SPD (Scholz) could be equated with Bernie Sanders and the CDU/CSU (Merkel) with the current Kamala Harris policy! Currently I see the SPD slightly to the left of Liz Cheny but too far to the right of center! The "Greens" were and have actually been conservative center-left economists since at least '08/'09 with a view to a "sustaining" economy in the future (simply put, they force us to accept the truth, which requires compromises to change behavior! ) The FDP (Lindner) is a conservative, arch-economic party that hides behind the cloak of the concept of freedom and stands for uncontrolled economic power! But their electorate, the higher-earning middle class [+50k €/Y to -70k €/Y], will soon no longer exist in Germany! Currently this starts at 66k and ends at 85k, but has a lot fewer voters to offer! I see the current FDP to the left of Elon Musk, who is one millimeter to the left of Trump! The normal center in Germany has shifted 2 hours to the right on the horseshoe clock, on which the AFD can just be glimpsed at 6:01 p.m. on the horizon of the right-wing radical to fascist abyss...!

Maybe You've heard about the manner of speaking "Jammern auf hohem Niveau", something like "suffering on a high level". Maybe we Germans are world champions in this discipline... People like You can explain, that life's got a lot more color, if You take off the grey glasses. And that is worth a lot...! Hey James, german here. So we have a debt stop in the constitution which states that we cannot spend more than we have with certain exceptions. We already took on new debt, so it's not exactly as if we didn't spend much more money than we are technically allowed to constitutionally. However the FDP blocked pretty much everything during the entire coalition anyway. SPD and the Greens especially only want to spend money without cutting back non useful spendings like questionable NGO funding and stuff they are ideologically invested in. For example there was a scandal not long ago when they found out that the greens rooted for some projects in china and spend money on them but they didn't even exist. Lots of smaller scandals added up, the greens especially are ideologically completely unhinged. Basically germans are FED UP with the current government, so most people are for quick elections but Scholz wants to drag it out because he hopes to win a few more votes after a local election in Hamburg that's coming up in March. So this is why Merz also is calling for quick new elections. We all really have had enough with all of the traffic light parties at this point. All of the three parties COMBINED didn't have more than 15% of votes last european election. Oh yeah and especially the newly enforced Self-ID law (another ideological project of the Greens) in Germany is something especially women are pissed about (as far as they know of it or it's implications at least). So I hope this helps! PS: We aren't afraid or anything, we're going about our business as usual, but want quick elections.
