Hi Joelle, I’m generally quite flexible but my hamstring has always been tight. I tried this today and will definitely be doing it regularly. I believe this will help my hamstring the same way your hips routines helped my bursitis. Thanks as always, keep up the great job!!

Finally made it to this practice after a full month of fighting off a cold! This was a delicious stretch and it felt so good! Thank you, Joelle! One more Week 3 practice and I will get to Week 4 and finish up!

Hi Joëlle, I just finished Day 23 of the 28 day challenge (I’m currently a day ahead). Decided to add this yin yoga sequence and it was a perfect addition. My hamstring is super tight, especially the left. So it felt really good after I was done. Thanks so much as always!

I can't hold the forward fold long any advice?

Yin yoga can definitely be challenging! If it feels like too much, decrease the angle of the fold by either not leaning forwards as far, or by placing something underneath the hips like a block or cushion. You can also place additional cushions between the upper body and legs to help support you. When it feels like you "need" to come out, see if you can hold it for just one breath longer than you thought you could. Over time the mind will start to build up strength to tackle these longer holds and you'll be able to hold for a little longer each time. Well done!

This isn't a vinyasa class, it's a Yin class. But ultimately, I can't tell you what's appropriate for your body without knowing what's going on. Advice over the internet isn't responsible.

You're helping me so much! My mornings start with you! My job was killing me: hard floors tight hamstrings. I'm able to use my gravity boots again after a hip replacement 2 years ago. I'm 60 years old, God sent you to me! your 10 minutes segments make it so easy to go to the next one. God love you, Joelle. P.S. you're very attractive! Hope you don't mind my saying so.

Oh my goodness. I’ve been in so much pain due to tightness in my legs, this was INTENSE for me due to how badly it was needed. Thank you so much for this practice ☺️

Thank you Joelle. Loved this practice today. My hamstrings have been very tight lately. This needs to go in my rotation to practice every day loosening those pesky hamstrings.

Hiii Joëlle, i love all of your stuff! I was wondering what’s the significance, if any, between fixing one’s hands one way or the other during the table top pose @15:55 -is there a “right” way of doing this pose, meaning is this the a proper form? Is this the best way for one’s shoulders and wrists to be positioned. 🙏🏿 😊

Good question! Since the focus of this practice isn't on the wrists, I tend to find fingers forwards a little gentler on them. But that said, if you feel more comfortable facing them in a different direction, feel free to do what feels best! 😉

@@YogawithJoelle ♥️♥️ I’ve noticed my shoulders have gotten sooo much more stiff since starting to lift a few months ago. 🤦🏿‍♂️I can hardly do this pose either way, now 🙀time to do some shoulder exercises… make a Joëlle yoga 🧘‍♂️ cocktail 😁 thanks for all of your hard work, you put into these, sincerely, they’ve been extremely beneficially to me…Body and Mind ✌🏿 till next time.

Another great one. Loving these longer yin practices. I’m finding that I’m much tighter on one side of my body than the other. How would you recommend trying to become more balanced? Should I hold poses longer on the tight side, or try to get into them a bit more deeply to increase range of motion?

Wonderful! So glad you're liking the yin practices Jeanne, there'll be more coming up soon! Great question - almost all of us have asymmetries in the hamstrings in terms of both flexibility and strength (...guilty!). Typically it's linked to how we all simply have a dominant leg, similar to having a dominant hand, and one leg getting "relied on" more than the other over the course of our lives - but it could also be due to simple anatomy, like having one leg a little longer than the other. So the "remedy" will depend on what the reason for the imbalance is. It's not generally a problem as long as it isn't causing you pain or trouble in every day life, but it's also not a bad idea to spend a little bit more time in a stretch on the weaker/tighter side. Maybe once you've done both sides, try coming back to the tighter one for 10 additional deep breaths, and see if over time you start to feel a littler more balanced 😉

Dear Joelle, your sequences have been incredibly helpful. I went to the doctor and it turns out I have SI joint issues that are causing pain in the coccyx, hip and lower back. Your videos have helped me a lot. But I was wondering If you have a video that can help me with SI joint discomfort or sitting pain specifically? If not, I would like to request it.
