She was just once in the shadows of Zhang Changning and Zhu Ting, waiting for the right moment to shine, and now here she is - the backbone of China’s offense. No one can deny she is above the Chinese league, and she isn’t exposed to any real competition until the national team season, and yet she continues to improve. What a talent.

In my existence, this is my 1st ever comment about Chinese Women’s Volleyball. I enjoy Yingying Li’s spike more than any other Women’s Chinese Volleyball Player I’ve seen not even Zhu Ting. Left handed are pretty nasty talented not just Volleyball, it could be most of everything.

Happy to say, "I told you so". After her first CVL season as a starter for her Tianjin club in 2017-18 as a 17-year-old - dominating the CVL as a hitter, outplaying Korean superstar Kim Yeon-koung in the finals to win the championship for her club, and setting many CVL records, I pegged Li as the next superstar for China, after Zhu Ting and Zhang Changning. Unable to switch to opposite to play on the same court as China’s, and the world’s then, top two outside hitters, Li was relegated to be a bench warmer and cheerleader as the third outside hitter during international competition. It was only after injuries to/semi-retirement of Zhu and Zhang that Li was able to emerge as China’s prime hitter. She had critics/haters galore after her break-out CVL season who doubted her abilities to become an international star - lack of athletic ability, can’t jump, too slow afoot, etc. But she has great volleyball IQ, which more than makes up for any alleged physical deficiencies. Now, she can shut her them up and enjoy the last laugh! Kudos to Li Yingying!

MVP only rarely goes to non-champion. Plus Varges is also very impressive, lead in serving and also highest attack success rate at 54%. If China won gold, then sure Li Yingying should be MVP. But Turkey won, Varges makes total sense.

@@yuxuan130411 As you can see my purpose in writing of receiving 89 balls, it is time for FIVB to revise and change their old rules, all Spiker must receive balls, they should not just focus and trained to heavy spikes, the advantage is not tired at all, it will be a great enjoyment to see they demonstrate full volleyball skills in the game.

@@RichWalter-yn8dz Fenerbahçe wanted LYY since 2018. Zhu could join vakif bank in 2016 because her team was bad with or without her. LYY on the other hand has been winning league champions since LYY joined the team. Her team won’t let her go play overseas

LYY is more talented than Zhu ting, unfortunately she has a very weak supporting cast. This China team wouldn’t have made final 8 if LYY were replaced by Zhu Ting in her prime. While LYY is 5 years younger than Zhu Ting, she actually has played volleyball 2 more years than Zhu Ting because she started playing volleyball at very young age

Wang Yunlu need to OUT from China's National Team. Bring back Zhu and Zhang. Even the youngest hitters in chinese league, Wu Mengjie & Wang Yifan is better than her. Cai Bin should stop using Wang Yunlu. Bring back also Yao Di and DingXia. Cai Bin useless

Zhang’s leg injury is so severe that she hasn’t played a single game since surgery. Zhu on the other hand refused to play for NT citing wrist injury while she received numerous serves upper hand style. Wang YL is the best player AVAILABLE. Cai shot his own foot by not picking the best setter in Yao Di and the most promising young OH in Wu Mengjie
