지난 3월에 발표한 이루마의 데뷔 20주년 기념 앨범 The Rewritten Memories를 통해 Kiss The Rain 오케스트라 버젼을 들려주었던 그가 이번에는 많은 이들에게 다시한번 옛 기억을 떠올리게 해줄 오리지널 Kiss The Rain 솔로 버젼을 들려준다.
9월에 발매할 그의 20주년 기념 솔로 앨범 'Solo'의 프리 릴리즈인 이 작품은 2003년 드라마 여름향기를 통해 대중들에게 처음 소개가 되었고 그후 18년이 넘는 기간동안 국내외에서 큰 사랑을 받고 있다.
작곡가 이루마는 "이 음악을 만난 건 내겐 가장 큰 행운이었다. 한여름에 내리는 잔잔한 빗줄기같은 음악으로 많은 분들의 삶에 작은 희망을 전할 수 있기를 바란다" 고 전했다.

20년전 학창시절, 피아노를 다시 시작하게 된 계기 중 하나였던 곡. 곡도 너무 좋고 치기도 쉬워서 수 천번도 넘게 치면서 지겹지 않았는데, 어느덧 피아노를 다시 손 놓은지가 10년이 되었네요. 나이들어 돌고 돌아 다시 피아노를 치기 시작하려고 하는데, 이 곡부터 생각이 나더군요... 그 동안 나왔던 이루마님의 신곡들도 하나하나 들어보면서 피아노 연습하면 지겹지가 않겠지요. 많이 늦었지만, 좋은 곡 듣게 해주셔서 정말 감사드립니다.

This piano piece was played during my grandmother's funeral back in 2013 when I first started playing piano. I've never heard a piano song so touching, soothing, and emotional that I wanted to learn "Kiss The Rain." Because of this piece alone, I wanted to pursue piano and music. Thus, this song started my piano journey and became my very first song to learn. I thank you Yiruma for inspiring us with such beautiful piano songs that we can use and remind ourselves that there will be better times in our future lives. Happy 20th Anniversary!🎹

This song brings lot of memories. Good ones, sad ones, painful ones... But that's all about memories and it makes my heart happy, melancholic and nostalgic thinking about the past. Yiruma has always been the only one making me feel a lot of different emotions with his music, he is a great pianist, the greatest since the last 20 years, he is such an inspiraiton and I'm thankful to him and his music for making me feel like a human when I've started loosing all my emotion because of a severe depression.
