Yiwu, China - Pros & Cons Of The World Biggest Trading Market

When I first came to Yiwu before, I thought it was awesome. Many small stalls, a mix of factories and trading companies. There were ALL types of products that you can find and source here. What's even better is that you can do sample order of a few hundred units at factory prices to test your products.
However, on my second run I saw the downside of Yiwu. I was looking for a very particular beauty product that I could white label and improve upon. And in my search, I discovered that Yiwu, for all intents and purposes, is a commodities market. You can find a lot of general or popular items here but you do have to look. It's like fleemarket, the more you search and ask, the more likely you'll find something interesting.
So... here is my advice to you. If you are looking for a specific niche product to add to your brand, start with Alibaba. However, if you don't know what you want exactly and are open to ideas, Yiwu is the place to search through to find your golden nugget.

Even in person in Yiwu you can add the seller on wechat and talk/negociate with him though.

Hey nick, glad to see you are back to making videos, love the inspiration and first hand knowledge bombs you drop. I had always thought that yiwu was somehow more like a street market but it looks a lot cleaner like a mall in here. Is it all in a building? Nice to hear your insights on this place.

jarhead0099 there are actually 5 building and all are huge. Like a maze. Highly reccomend visiting

Minimum orders of 500 units is very risky
