He is. He built a graphic studio with his best friend. I think the studio is still exist, but Idk if Xiao Zhan is still the co-owner. Oh, he also the head of the university choir group. And he's quite famous in the university, because his beautiful voice and beautiful face. His nickname is "Xiao Mei Ren" which literally translated as "The Little Beauty" but Xiao here Xiao Zhan's family name so it's "The Beautiful Xiao"

My favorite moment was when his fans brought really poorly designed signs to one of his events as a joke because he was a graphic designer lol! In the original novel The heights are close, but Lan Zhan is taller than Wei Wuxian. So if you ever watch the behind the scenes of the show you will hear the costume coordinator and assistants asking for the specialized boots to make Yibo taller than Zhan. Sometimes just for the sake of some shots Zhan would just spread his legs out wider and Yibo would stand on his tip toes.

Yes, Woodz and Yibo were/are in group Uniq. The group was really good, unfortunately they've been on hiatus since 2016. And regarding the height, I think I saw somewhere that Yibo had to wear shoes that had additional height to them so Wangji can be taller than Wuxian.

yeah lol, in the novel Lan Wangi is taller than Wei Wuxian, but irl Xiao Zhan is a giant (i think he's officially 6 foot but he's probably taller) and Wang Yibo is shorter, so in the drama he is wearing heel lifts and a tall hairstyle, and they gave Wei Wuxian a less high hairstyle to make their heights more like they should be, haha

If you wanna work on pronouncing pinyin & tones, I highly HIGHLY recommend “Learn Chinese with Litao” - I’ve been learning Mandarin for years (since I chose it as my minor in college), but he explained how to pronounce certain consonants in a way that made way more sense to me & helped me with some pronunciations that I struggled with. He breaks the pinyin alphabet down into smaller chunks instead of trying to learn the whole alphabet at once. There are a lot of videos because of that, but most of them are short, & he takes the time to pronounce things slowly & give you time to practice. He explains how you need to be shaping your mouth and tongue to make them, & uses examples of the same sounds in English words. Just look for his videos by searching “pinyin pronunciation” here on KZbin!

they filmed it intentionally for Lan Zhan to be taller than Wei Wuxian, because that's how it was in the novels. there are several behind the scenes clips where Wang Yibo is making Xiao Zhan to bend to appear shorter or he is switching his boots for ones with taller heels because the scene would show them next to each other... if you keep watching videos with them, I'm sure they will pop up... although not sure if that's a good idea, since you might get relatively spoiled for future episodes, if you care about spoilers.

He was only 20/21 year old when he was shooting untamed so it's obvious that his height was shorter than xz because xz is 6 year older than Yibo.. But now in 2022 Yibo is 183cm and he is now 24 year old..

Some context at the 12:00 or so mark where they're quiet in front of the computer and then start giggling -- they were "working" at the sina offices for the day and one of the tasks was that they had to post from the official account praising one another. Yibo wrote a long post and they both laughed when XZ was embarassed by how over-the-top it was lol Also Yibo wore heels for a lot of the filming since his character was supposed to be taller. There are a few funny bts clips of them joking about it. Behind the scenes from one of the first episodes where they have that duel by the waterfall, Yibo goes up on his tiptoes to look taller, then XZ does too and defeats the purpose lol 😂😂😂

Fun fact : So far, as far as I know, only Xiao Zhan ever called Yibo "noisy" Most of Yibo's co-stars will say that Yibo is reserved, cool, prefer to listening than speaking, usually just stand there, and kinda take some time to get warm to people. So yeah, it's not the case with Xiao Zhan, since the very first day they met, they're already so clicked together, and that Yibo is kinda OOC, because he's teasing Xiao Zhan and laughing togetehr with him.

In the book... Wei Ying is about the same height as Lan Wangji, (being that Lan Wangji is 188cm and Wei Ying is 186Cm) but after taking over Mo Xuanyu's Body (180Cm) he is actually several inches shorter than Lan Wangji. But The actors, Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan... Wang Yibo is shorter hahahaha so they had several ticks to make him a bit taller or of similar height during filming. but so worth it lol and I didn't notice the height thing during the show.... Actually, you pronounced it correctly))) *Yizhan [iː dʒ ɒn]* sounds similarly to John but with "a" not "o", and "n" sound in the end should be soft. It`s hard bcs there is no necessary sounds in English, which exists in Chinese. And here are the transcriptions of their names if you need: *Wang Yibo [wʌŋ iːbo]* , *Xiao Zhan [ʃaʊ dʒ ɒn]* but Xiao sounds like the beginning of Xiaomi, (if you know this brand) where the first sound is not "sh" but soft "s" ))) I pronounce their names as they do it themselves, bc if you search in the internet how to pronounce it in English it would be awful) So, i hope my weird explanation will help you...))) Aaah I remember about the bodyguard. Lele-ge right? It was during that Sina interview in 2019 and again in Tencent Starlight 2021? I remember reading a comment from C-fans that bodyguard have a very strict regulations and rules. They have to stay close to their person of responsibility. And that they have to prioritize this person at all cost. For example, In a moment of danger, even if there's family member, the bodyguard must stay close only to the person of responsibility. The sus thing is why Lele-ge stay close to Xiao Zhan instead of his person? Especially in that Tencent Starlight Award.

It’s actually more of a “j” sound. “Sh” in pinyin would be “sh” or “x.” An english “j” isn’t quite the same as a chinese “zh” but it’s close enough, so don’t worry to much about it being perfect. But “sh” is a little too off lol

Así que, a veces puede ser un poco incomprensible por qué ingresan algunas escenas en videos como los que viste, porque parecería que son interacciones normales de compañeros de trabajo (y no de amigos cercanos), pero si esas mismas escenas las contextualizamos con todas las limitaciones que tenían, resultan increíbles. Yo siento que, en esos vídeos intentan mostrar que, al final del día a ellos lo que les importaba más era ser auténticos y pasarla bien. Así que el premio está en sus sutilezas y lenguaje corporal. No, in no way do I ship anyone. I watch videos for the fun and entertainment of the shows and a continued love, friendship or not, the actors have outside of it. Always, ALWAYS, separating the show from real life. And I usually say that in videos, unfortunately forgot about it in this one. But yes I never ship actors romantically outside of their characters. I watch these videos mostly because I myself love and respect the closeness these actors show outside of the show, something still not very typical between male co-stars, since toxic shipping comes into it always. 🙏🏼
