Yoooo, you had me all the way until 6:35. Such talent yet you felt like you needed to include Sly and The Family Stones' "Thank you" which is a song about running from the cops and getting into trouble. It was painful hearing the leader ad-lib over the background chorus of "Thank you for letting me be myself again". God isn't making an attempt to allow us to "be ourselves", rather, He's calling us into a new life with him that is completely opposite of our nature. The ad-libs that the leader was singing didn't even make sense. I enjoyed the music and felt that it was cool to use instrumentation that isn't common in worship. Even that can be a slippery slope. Anyway, I hope this doesn't come of the wrong way and someone (hopefully the members of this production) can see things the way God might see it when it comes to this issue. If for nothing else, just remember, when you minister to 68.8k subscribers, you can be sure that everyone is at a different place in their walk. For this reason, ministers with such a vast reach should be particularly careful in the messages they send. Of course the Word of God should NEVER be compromised, however the delivery should be as wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. I'm a bass player in Miami for the last 20+ years and I see how music, particularly incorporating popular secular songs, affects worship so this is a message of love.

I think the "self" that Donnie Mcclurkin was talking about when he made the song was the self that we were meant to be before Adam and Eve's fall in the Garden of Eden. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Yahshua Ha'Mashiach we can finally be the true self we're supposed to be for Almighty Yah and not the self we were born into. Think about it and be blessed!
