The song is dedicated to true love. Yes, that's right. Sunrise, joy, sun shines. Eagles soar, flowers in the meadow. Warriors ride to their loved ones. Wish you were here. My dear, my Janym. I will be with you. Janym, my dear. I will always wait for you. Janym, together we walk. Until the bazaar in Osh. I can hear your sweet voice. I feel joy in my heart. I'll save you my princess. Be together forever. My dear, my Janym. I will be with you. Janym, my dear. I will always wait for you. Janym, together we walk. Until the bazaar in Osh. But even the smallest stone ... Can be stronger than a mountain ... Love's mighty power ... Is stronger than hate. Janym, my dear. I will always wait for you. Janym, together we walk. Until the bazaar in Osh. (Random english that's hard to understand.) Janym, my dear. I will always wait for you. Janym, together we walk. Until the bazaar in Osh.

Make sure to check out Ylvis Big in Kyrgyzstan if you want to find out why they are singing in a Russian/Kyrgyzstan language rather than Norwegian. Otherwise this won't make much sense. Plus the fact that they wrote this song in English, translated to Russian, did vocals for it in a language they didn't know (and had to be taught pronunciation of it) and then were on a radio show early the next day singing it live for millions of viewers. I'd like those people who thought/think these guys are not good at making songs (based on only ever seeing the fox video) to see/understand how this song came about. Though this is just a small aspect of their amazing talents to play a crap load of instruments, make backing music for songs, sing extremely well from low to high pitch, sing songs in many different genres with voices that sound like they fit in each genre, do aerial silk, make awesome stage shows, and are great at improvising songs. They are extremely underestimated. It was so annoying to watch them go to interviews in the US where no one did any background checks on them, and they had no idea of all the stuff they have done or could do. Otherwise I know they would have tried to at least get them to improvise a song or something ugh...
@lkrnpk8 жыл бұрын
well they obviously didn't translate it into Russian by themselves, and the lyrics are so Russian-like sounding that I doubt that the whole song was originally in English, I can see parts of it being that way- the one already in English, for example, but other parts of it sound very Russian culture wise from the get go
@Ashfer28 жыл бұрын
+lkrnpk Yeah it was the three of them including Ilyah who was basically their manager and tourguide and speaks Russian I think, who wrote the lyrics and then Ilyah did the translation, but there were probably some parts that didn't translate well and so probably had to pick something similar that made more sense in Russian, Ilyah is the guy in the yellow shirt at 2:51

There is no word "pirdolay"! It's Kyrgyz phrase "bir dalay" which translates on english like "for a long time". Full line is "birge jurduk bir dalay" what means "we are beeing together for a long time" P.S. Sorry for my English

That was fun. I'm russian and I must say that there is some not bad russian for people who don't really speak it. It's a shame but I don't know kyrgyz language so I didn't understand whol song. The song itself is fun ant catchy. So yeah, I like it!

In English, this is a lighthearted take on a love story where they have to rescue a princess.. Janym I guess.. to get their passports back so they can go home xD The plot is slightly confusing. Anyways, this was a (very cheap) production while visiting Kirgisistan/Kyrgyztan (agh spelling), and they had to learn (some of) their language before they could make the song. The guy who helped them is in the right of the frame near the end, dancing. :P The reason they (Ylvis brothers) did all this is.. well.. there's a reason, but in short, that's just who they are and what they do. ^^

This should have more views, too.It is so cool. My daughter loved it first simply because of the song and she found the words very funny without understanding the lyrics. She said the sounds were funny. I agree:)

@AndreyPokidov8 жыл бұрын
Russian language is well known in Kyrgyzstan and it is the second official language in Kyrgyzstan. Also the song consists of parts of three languages: Kyrgyz, Russian and English.

@kanalkanalkanalable8 жыл бұрын

I am Kyrgyz and this song is in both languages, Russian and Kyrgyz. Probably this is because we Kyrgyz people speak in both languages very well. For instance, I write in Russian grammatically way better than some Russian folks :). I guess whoever sang this song did it with good intentions even though Kyrgyz guys being beaten by foreigners looks little offensive. Other than that I liked the video.

"Being beaten" ..offensive. You mean the same guys who danced in the end with "foreigners"? Dunno which would be more offensive since as we ALL know Kyrgyz guys are very unbeatable and don't dance to sissy songs.
