PERHAPS “THEY” AT THAT TIME IN THE 1950’S were not ready for such talent. BUT IN THE USA 🇺🇸 AND THE WORLD WERE READY. YOU HAD TO LEAVE YOUR COUNTRY TO THE USA 🇺🇸 WHERE YOU BEGAN YOUR CAREER FULL FORCE. I LEARNED THIS THROUGH THE MANY SHORTS ON KZbin. I ENJOY LISTENING TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL VOICE. I had the unbeliveable honor of becoming Yma's manager on the early 90's. We became very, very close in LA and in Miami, where we took her to make her last recordings. "Perita" or "Mrs. Castell", with her beloved, small and crazy dog: you'll always be in my soul. Last time we talked was when I asked her last manager (an American woman) to talk with "Perita" to receive from her the ok to srnd to that woman the stunning 40 kgs of Yma's personal photo albums that she gave to me in Miami more than a decade earlier. Those albums travelled with me from Miami to Budapest and, three years later, up to the gorgeous Romanian Bucovina, but I always felt that such a treasure (I remember original photos of her with Anna Magnani, Maurice Chevalier and many outstunding imager all around the globe) must be with her, and only with her, so I looked all around Internet and sent an email to that woman who, I guest, was taking care of her. I got an inmediate, kind of rude answer, with the address where I should send that historic treasure. When finally I talked with Yma she was so great, sweet and good friend as usual. That woman's name was probably Sally Cunningham /Sara Cloudwalker. She was terrifying and a compulsive liar. She died a few years ago. All of Yma Sumac's personal belongings went to her loyal and adoring assistant and friend who took care of her alone. He was with her for her last 11 years. He has done great things with her costumes and put all photos and documents in chronological order. You will probably enjoy her official website: www.yma-sumac.com
