This movie being set in the late '90s means there's not just a genuine possibility that it will feature the World Trade Center, but that the World Trade Center will be a major plot element, and then when people react with outrage, the director and Sony will try to argue, "we were paying tribute to the victims of 9/11!"
@TerrenceNowicki10 ай бұрын
Either that, or there will be weird, abrupt, jarring edits whenever an establishing shot pans over the portion of the New York skyline which should include the World Trade Center, or there will be a bunch of continuity errors.

Sony feel like they are REALLY reaching with these (non-)Spider-Man movies. they have like dozens of Spider-Man supporting characters they have access to, and barely any of them can carry a movie without actually involving Spider-Man somehow. (most of them, even with Spider-Man would struggle) They're even not using interesting stories from the comics anymore, who the F*&^ cares about mystical Spider related business man villain or third grade Spider-Women characters. (even the main Spider-Woman character would struggle to attract an audience, and she's not even in this one) this looks like a CW show with a slightly higher than average budget.

The reason that she didn't follow the motion of the stunt performer getting thrown onto the table, is because she was attempting to do what David fincher does in Fight club which is tilt the camera in such a way to emphasize the gravity so when a character is feeling woozy, he'll tilt the camera in the direction that the floor feels like it's moving for them. It's actually very effective when he does it but far more subtle.

on the camera follow: especially if the camera is mimicing the character's disorientation - going from just being in a diner -> to having venomninja throwning them around by the neck - and starting your superhero journey. but all the shot/edits are backwards

A couple thoughts here; 1. This movie feels like it came from a script that was locked away in 2014. Back when Sony thought that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was gonna be big hit and kick off their Sony Spider-Man Cinematic Universe. 2. It’s amazing that Sony’s “Spider-Manless” Spider-Man movies feel like something that would’ve been perfect for 2005. And you know what? I love it. Maybe it’s the MCU Burnout talking but we need more stupid shit like this to break up the monotony. Hell, 2024 is the year of Sony Marvel since we have this movie, Kraven and Venom 3. The MCU only has one movie in 2024 and Deadpool 3. 3. I didn’t even think they were gonna bother giving them suits like that DC Gotham Knights show where they’re bat family characters in name only and they’ll never put in the costumes at all.

I really agree with this. It 100% seems like a script that's sat around somewhere for a while. And yeah, if this was 2005ish, it might be half-decent. Maybe it will be so bad, it's good? As long as it's some kind of entertaining, I might enjoy it haha

@@RedSpade37I’m hoping it’s at least funny bad. Not boring bad like Morbius, the only reason it was even relevant was because the memes it spawned.

You think the fact that this movie, Kragen, and Venom 3 are coming out in 2024 somehow means that Sony is doing a good job with these movies? Wtf kind of logic are you operating on?

I like old lady Madame Web, from the 90's cartoon. It's believable that she would have vast amounts of knowledge. They should have just done a Silk movie... but maybe Silk will be in this? But they'll fuck up her origin?

Silk isnt well known outside of comics despite her popularity, so I doubt they saw her as profitable.

Ezekiel, in this movie, acts more like Morlun in the comics, but I guess Sony doesn't want to confuse the audience with Morbius.
