The vocalist is very good. I heard his singing for the first time.Definitely Malmsteen's' solo is different from the original one, but he uses the melody Ritchie wrote well, I think.Ritchie's solo is best. However Yngwie's solo is also awesome and beautiful although there are too many notes. Thank you for sharing.

All the haters, hate! Malmsteen has tons of great songs/albums (alchemy and new one is great) i dont like his version of the solo here but yeah he was having fun. Everyone has influences...i find blackmore more tasty in certain areas but i prefer malmsteen in others...BOTH ARE GUITAR GOOODS! I LOVE RAAAINBOOOW! LONG LIVE ROCK N' ROOOOLL!!!

For you all just don't know Yngwie's album "Inspiration", this is his own version of Gates of Babylon - not a simple cover and let me tell you it's awesome. Stop hating this genius. It's set Blackmore is a guitar god but so is Yngwie, for the love of god

folks who think Papa Yng should've stuck to Blackmore's solo or whatever i'm honestly curious, what were you expecting when you clicked this video, like what did you think was going to happen? what even would be the attraction of listening to him play someone else's solo note-for-note? you listen to Yngwie for gratuitous shred so i can't imagine why someone would be disappointed to see that he didn't do an exact rendition.
@perpetual614 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%. First and foremost since when has Yngwie ever played any song the way it was meant to be ? Still the masses complain because he doesn't do it the same way like everyone else. I have said this on numerous occasions that If I wanted Yngwie to be like every other Guitarist then I wouldn't be a Fan. He has stuck to what works for him and makes no apologizes for it and has had a career despite how many Hate him.

malmsteen has been having hand issues. Like EVH who had to have his tendons reconstructed I suspect that Yngwie has had the same thing done. EVH said he had to literally learn how to use his hand all over again. Playing at the speed malmsteen does causes arthritis and tendon swollen joint problem. Last time I heard Malmsteen play it was not the same Malmsteen.

This is a 90% performance of the real thing. He did a great job but didn't hit the high note at the end of the solo. It's the most important part. But hey, good effort Yng and friends. If you think I'm being unfair I'm a huge Yngwie fan, it's my favorite solo of all time and I really like that high note at the end of the solo.
@scythianarcher41336 жыл бұрын
The solo section is spoilt. It makes no sense. There's no compositional development in it. Just another of his exercises. Blackmore wrote this one so carefully, building the atmosphere of the composition. Each phrase was thoughtful, with proper sound and timing. Sometimes it was very delicate, sometimes fast and passionate. With a lot of tiny details, that made the solo special. It is almost like Blackmore was telling a story with his solo. Malmsteen should have followed the original, with some alterations if he wanted them. But in fact, it can't be perfected. It is perfect already. Instead of that, Malmsteen just let his crazy fingers go, without knowing where they would go. So, naturally their perfomed a number of his usual exercises on speed that we've heard for 30 odd years. Very disappointing.

Owens is unable to sing this.... The chorus is slaughtered... and those screams before the solo section :( Right on with Mr Bukowskish... as much as I used to love Yngwie, he should stick to Blackmore's guitar solo, which was phenomenal, and indeed the best I've ever heard from the Man In Black. I think that for once Ritchie had carefully "written" this solo. All in all, it's a rather messy version. Makes me feel sad. I don't understand Yngwie... There are much better singers, who aren't famous, maybe but as he thinks singers are just not more important than drummers in his band... he should not care for the fame, just for the technique... and Owens isn't a technical singer at all. I once heard a concert with Yngwie where he was off tone most of the time. It was just painful.
