No surprise really that ABBA is appreciated by a lot of Rock / Metal fans. In their early days, they were as much a Glam Rock band as anything else before embracing Pop. But they maintained a Rock edge throughout. And a great melody will always easily be adaptable. It's why much of their music can be 'rocked up' as well as be adapted to Classical tastes. It also helps that there was always a dark melancholy bubbling under the surface of even some of their upbeat numbers. Check out some of the 'Swedish Hitz Goes Metal' videos for more ABBA covers. 'Money, Money, Money' by Reinxeed is really good. 'I'm a Marionette' by Ghost (the original was creepy enough), 'Summer Night City' by Therion. Old Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Led Zep, Undertones fan myself.

Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Half past twelve And I'm watching the late show in my room all alone How I hate to spend the evening on my own Autumn winds Blowing outside the window as I look around the room And it makes me so depressed to see the gloom There's not a soul out there No one to hear my prayer Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Movie stars Find the end of the rainbow, with a fortune to win It's so different from the world I'm living in Tired of TV I open the window and I gaze into the night But there's nothing there to see, no one in sight There's not a soul out there No one to hear my prayer Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight There's not a soul out there No one to hear my prayer Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away Gimme gimme gimme your love after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Listening to this song driving my Volvo to Ikea, thinking about those great tennis matches between Matts Willander and Stefan Edberg
