Most folks don't give ABBA enough credit. They really took the music scene by force and production and many multiple hits, the chemistry, sound and the unique contrasting octaves of Agnetha and Freida will never be duplicated; ever. Yngwie was just givng them their props and is proud to be one of them.

ABBA is also the most-covered (song) band in the history of pop music. They were master of the pop song. Incredible musicians, vocalists and band. I don't know of anyone else who wrote so many "perfect" pop songs. Love that he did this!

No surprise really that ABBA is appreciated by a lot of Rock / Metal fans. In their early days, they were as much a Glam Rock band as anything else before embracing Pop. But they maintained a Rock edge throughout. And a great melody will always easily be adaptable. It's why much of their music can be 'rocked up' as well as be adapted to Classical tastes. It also helps that there was always a dark melancholy bubbling under the surface of even some of their upbeat numbers. Check out some of the 'Swedish Hitz Goes Metal' videos for more ABBA covers. 'Money, Money, Money' by Reinxeed is really good. 'I'm a Marionette' by Ghost (the original was creepy enough), 'Summer Night City' by Therion. Old Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Led Zep, Undertones fan myself.

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Movie stars Find the end of the rainbow with a fortune to win It's so different from the world I'm living in Tired of TV I open the window and I gaze into the night But there's nothing there to see, no one in sight There's not a soul out there No one to hear my prayer Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away? Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight There's not a soul out there No one to hear my prayer Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away? Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Take me through the darkness to the break of the day Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away? Heavy metal most powerful insane music for sane people. Abba's sweet tunes madly performed with one longer hair... Very good addition. What is abba's opinion?

I love the Abba and I love Heavy Metal. This song is a great combo of the two. Another great cover of a song by Yngwie is Dream on, featuring Ronnie James Dio. It's as great as this cover. ImI

That's how you turn up a well constructed pop song to 11, by giving it to an axe genius who toasts it into infinity! Malmsteen don't give a fuck it's still going to get appeggio'd to death, and why not? Long live the relentless axe master.

Abba has actually has got quite a few tracks that are fit for "metalizing"..! Therion's cover ov Summer Night City is awesome. This song though, I was curious how the male vocalist was gonna deal with the "man" bit in lyrics...! haha ;)

The 4 people that don't like this video are the original ABBA, who are repenting for not having Yngwie in the band... (seriously, ABBA was an amazing band, but Yngwie in this cover surpassed himself...Sweden is FULL of musical talents!)

Oh Fudgies Sweep? You need to listen to Rising Force again, then Marching Out, then Trilogy, then Odyssey. His song "Crying" should be enough to prove he's not just a one trick pony. The man can evoke more passion with 4 notes than most can an entire song. Listen to Icarus Dream Suite, Oveture 1383!!! Dreaming, Hold On, My Own Enemy, He plays with tons of passion. Check out his work with Steeler and Alcatrazz!
