I played Yngwie since I was in high school back in the 90's. I was 17 then, I learned from Wolf Marshall transcripts, I learned the aspects of the neo classical style and incorporated it into my own songwriting, Yngwie was my 'go to'back then...then I heard others, Vinnie Moore, Romeo, Jason Becker of course, those were the days.

Great playing. Not many attempt and pull off a full cover of Disciples From Hell like you did. I've been a Yngwie fan since his first solo record. Got my hands on the import version when it first came out and have been a fan ever since. I ALWAYS thought Disciples was to me his hardest solo to play note for note and still think that. The arpeggio section is so precise and then as he ALWAYS did back then he just improved the rest of the solo and man he was ON FIRE with that one in the studio. I've seen him live in person many times and have watched a ton of other live performances on here. I've NEVER heard him EVER play it close to the studio version. Like alot of great solos sometimes people just let it rip and have to go back and learn it themselves again after. You killed it brother Loved it and love that you had your guitar so high up in the mix. You can't hide any mistakes that way and it didn't matter you played both songs like you owned them. Great job man!

Thanks man. Yes, Disciples is one of those songs where I think the magic of the studio solo, was hard to match live. The album solo also has a few splices in there, that I think came out cool. Like that scooped harmonic at the very end, that sort of just fizzes out and fades ... well, coming off a very fast legato lick it's not physically possible to recreate in one single performance, so I had to re-arrange it a bit. But on the record things like that gives the solo end a surreal and haphazard feeling, which I think is very cool.

@ClassicSoloSpotlight Yeah you right about that harmonic for sure and Yngwie did splice some of those early solos like Eddie did on alot of the Van Halen records. I always thought THAT day Yngwie recorded that Disciples solo was one of those days we ALL have where we are in the zone how they sometimes describe an athlete like Michael Jordan in those epic games he had. I think he just was feeling it extra special and what came out was to me anyway his best improvised solo and that's saying something for Yngwie because he has SO MANY incredible solos in those earlier records. You definitely have alot of his small nuances down brother and for what it's worth I've ONLY ever heard about 3 guys in my life that nailed the Disciples solo like Yngwie on the studio version and I'm a little older then you. Again man Great Playing. Loved how you nailed all the fills to on Disciples. You deserve more subs man seriously.

What I'm looking for now is trying to secure financing to have a pro engineer mix it properly. So that's the game plan for 2025. As soon as the songs are mixed, I'll put it out spotify etc. In the meantime, I'll keep doing these videos just because it's fun and also keeps me sharp.

Thank you. It could be one of two things. I usually mix in slight bit of flanger, maybe 5-6% mixed into the final amp tone. Or it may actually be the pitch itself because at the end of Viking, Yngwie's original guitar goes ever so slightly out of tune on the low E, during the final riff section. I tried to match that pitch drop, but its far from perfect.
