I love these guys!! Such amazing players !!! I first saw Yngwie open for AC/DC in 1985 on the Marching Out tour and I saw Vai with David Lee Roth on the Eat Em and Smile tour in 1986. They both made me want to practice guitar more. Also they were cool enough to pose for pictures since I was in the front row with my old Kodak Disc camera 😂🤣🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

I had a December 1987 Custom Shop Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster , Vintage White With Rosewood Fret Board . I Was In a Luxury Condo at the time and got in trouble for playing too LOUD .

That was absolutely awesome!!! It's so interesting to hear great guitarists talk about their journey and passion for music and guitar, people just don't realize how much pain and effort it takes to be a great guitarist, they think it all just happens magically and effortlessly. But I think if you genuinely love music and guitar, the aches and pains of being a musician/guitarist will not phase you as it would for people who aren't genuinely in love with music and guitar. Guitarists like Malmsteen and Vai are so great is because they have a great passion for music n guitar 🎸 ❤ 😍 👍

The first Yngwie record I got was in 1986. It might have been out for a while by then, but it was quite hard to find in the U.K.. Before I heard the record I’d read so much in the press about this guy who was just an incredible player. Being somewhat sceptical about the hype, I remember listening to the volume swells at the start of the record before the first track kicked in. Well by the time the record had finished I was utterly gobsmacked. I’d never heard anything remotely like it. It’s a moment I’ll always remember. People forget before Yngwie, rock guitar was mostly a jumble of pentatonic licks and tapping often badly jammed into records. Yngwie lifted the whole thing up a level in a single step. I don’t think anyone else in the last four decades has achieved anything similar.
