Thank god a new album from one of the best acts in music for the past 30+ years! I’ve been listening to yolatengo since I was a baby and am 20 now. Super excited for a new album!
@ramindadmanesh38632 жыл бұрын
Wow Josh, if you're only 20, how and who guided you toward YLT? I would've thought if you weren't aboard their train by 2000, then there's been much less impetus to discover and cherish them more recently. This song very much harkens back to their 90s stuff, which is great news. Good on you for having great taste!
@joshleeming77962 жыл бұрын
@@ramindadmanesh3863 My parents listened to them a lot when I was a young kid, and as me and my cousin got into writing and recording music in elementary and middle school the two of us obsessed over YLT. specifically summer sun, I can hear the heart beating as one, and and then nothing turn itself inside out. Great music, and great people (I’ve seen them live twice)!
@ramindadmanesh38632 жыл бұрын
@@joshleeming7796 Again, great taste. Yes, they actually are wonderful people. I'd be giving away my almost-beyond-middle age if I confessed to the fact that I've seen them about 20 times 😂.

The intro's chord structure reminds me a bit of BOTH Jenny Ondioline and Pack Yr Romantic Mind (by Stereolab) who of course had Yo La Tengo open for them memorably in 1995 and they issued a split single together! It was actually at that very tour when I first fell in love with YLT's music and started buying p as many of their albums as I could! :) So good to have them back again.... they are like a comfort blanket to the ears (and soul) during these mega shitty fucked up times. The album title is nice and succinct too - but then hardly surprising !!!
