I was thinking they changed Jessicas name because if i remember correctly, Jessica was just Sands' creation and not really a human and in the end of star shine 3 we push them back to the portal. My theory is that it somehow destroyed Jessica but he was able to create her again, but chose to make her a different person this time. It could be explained differently later in the game of course, but i like to think this for now.

I also started sso in 2013 and I remember when the first teased about Katja. I think that they made it so the dark rides don’t fit to visualize how the conflicting appearances and personalities of dark rides don’t stand a chance against the complementing soul riders because the soul riders work together while the dark riders want the same end goal but don’t work together to achieve it. In other words the dark rides don’t work together and won’t succeed in their goals while the soul rides always get what they want because they work together and learn from their mistakes/failures.

I'm here from the future, The new quests, Linda and the others still call Jay, Jessica, Jay seems to hate being called that name tho. Edit: I agree about Katya and the Violin, as a violin player for 5+ years it makes me a little angry how SSO designed it lol.
