Lu Over the Wall (夜明け告げるルーのうた Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta) is a 2017 Japanese animated film produced by Science Saru and was released by Toho.
Lu Over the Wall was directed by Masaaki Yuasa, and has a screenplay credited to Reiko Yoshida and Masaaki Yuasa. The music was composed by Takatsugu Muramatsu. It was released in Japan on May 19, 2017. It is currently licensed by GKids in the United States.

I love the way these scenes are animated. This entire film has a look that reminds me of an anime from the 50's/60's, but these scenes especially go full old school and I love it. Although I can't help but wonder if there's a reason the music stopped that second time at 1:20. I know the first time, Kai was trying to stop it, but then he turns it back on only to abruptly stop it seconds later.

I love everything about it And coming from an artists standpoint I can agree this is peak animation It gives off a disney old school animation with all the movement and stretching it does There's not alot of shading or detail in Characters but that's ok I've known for a long time u can have any style no matter how basic You can still create amazing things And I love the story I like to think that kai as an adult just on his boat saying to himself "I always come out here.... wondering if she'll one day return....I'm not as young as I once was...and perhaps she may not recognize me....but I hope to see her again" That's how I'd do a sequel of a time skip if possible Now I illustrate and create Characters But I'm not in some sort of studio I'm a teenager 16 years old I just pay really close attention to detail and how a story is made I've been told before I got potential with storytelling and drawing And to any of those out there Who are striving for creating whatever it is Go for it The only limit you have is yourself!

The thumbnail character made me curious, so I hovered over the thumbnail to see the 3 sec preview... then I got MEGA inquisitive! That's such an interesting choice of style! I definitely don't dislike it, but at the same time, I don't know if it would grow on me. It's super weird, how we have these stiff, orderly anime-style characters ( 0:18 ) one moment.
