My favorite Japanese song has always been "Ue o muite arukou" by Kyu Sakamoto. This was one of my mother's favorite songs and she used to play it all the time. It also has beautiful lyrics. It is sad that Kyu is no longer here and was tragic the way he and others passed away. I am sure he is especially missed by the Japanese people. Very good video. Thank you!

Hi, It's nice that someone outside of Japan loves his song so much! I'm glad you didn't call the song "Sukiyaki" 😅 Thank you for your comment.

@@SpeakJapaneseNaturally Your welcome. I have always loved his voice and he had the best smile. I listen to his music on KZbin frequently and also have some of his music at home. As far as not calling it "Sukiyaki", I always thought it sounded better with the original name. Keep up the wonderful work and have a great day :-)

I can confirm that its actually the lion speaking the "i was comfortable, or rather i was happy". It shifts to louis right around the end, when he was saying sth about the kindness hidden within ibuki's large body and continued in louis perspective from then til the end. PS: the "held onto the beautiful mane" part can also be a reference to the fact that louis keep a lock of ibuki's mane with him as a momento. *SPOILER* The guy who shot ibuki is someone who ibuki trust the most aside from louis(probably)and he actually did so because ibuki instructed him to, to create a fake narratives that "ibuki ate louis, and got shot for it while louis died from predation". To create an excuses for louis to walk out as a "dead" man and dont get hunted down by the gang The only person who knew the truth is the guy who shot ibuki, but he respected ibuki wish and let louis go. There are more reasons that led it to this outcome but this is the main reason.

@@SpeakJapaneseNaturally ふみ先生英語が上手ですね With your level of English fluency, I would guess that you had someone to speak English with when you were growing up? I think to learn another language, we need to speak it everyday in order to become fluent. Speaking it helps memorize the words, grammar and pitch... I hope you were able to find the song here on YT and enjoyed it...

This could be interpreted as a warning about organized crime, the choices that are made, and the unavoidable consequences. It could also be a reference to the old saying--"honor among thieves", or possibly as an example of how some seek forgiveness, even at the end of their lives, before it's too late.. Good video!
