Yoda has the edge right up until order 66, at that point it narrows, Yoda had the slight slight edge in their final duel but anything after that point heavily favors Palpatine.

the amount of luck sidious went through is insane, first he got defeated by windu but then got saved by anakin, and no. sidious didnt fake his defeat, mace windu won by using vaapad. after that yoda defeated sidous but then yoda fell at the last second

he only lost to windu because he decided to engage in a lightsaber duel. Lucas contradicted the idea of purposely losing but the novel made it clear that had in engaged in a force battle with windu the results would be different. This is shown against yoda where sidious extended the distance to a battle of force abilities. Post order 66 sidious is enough to beat Windu and Yoda separately. ROTJ sidious is enough to defeat the whole jedi order. DE Sidious can only be stopped with the combined effort of every single jedi in the history of the order

I disagree with this, Yoda couldn’t even finish up Dooku despite having the upper hand, he also lost to him in ROTS because Palpatine was no longer holding back and Palpatine displayed a superior force power and abilities through out the movie, also better feats. So I would say Sidious wins mid-high diff, because that’s basically what happened when Sidious got the sith eyes and finally showed his true self.

If he killed Yoda, great! But if he didn’t kill Yoda and got away, also fine. Yoda had the harder win condition.

In post Order 66 period as galaxy was moving more and more towards the dark side. Not in any earlier period. Palpatine had a major power boost after Order 66. Earlier he was weaker than Windu as is confirmed by Lucas, and Windu is weaker than Yoda.
