@@Mqmn how things work and react with each other in star wars is weird, new interpretations can bring new meaning. but what you have just said is just brain rot, the movies aren’t going to be the same as the tv shows, same with games and the other pieces of media. Why is the design so dog shit? Well because you’re a normal human using a simulated version of the Jedi fighter. you’re not going to know how to fly it and going back to what I said you don’t have the force to help you manoeuvre. You know how jedis and sith can jump super high and not break both their legs? They use the force to propel and then use it again for a controlled fall, now in the movies when obi and Anakin are fighting the separatists in their fighters I believe that they use the force to help them properly fight. With a horrible design for visual detection it would be a right assumption that they’re called Jedi fighters and preform so well because of the jedis ability to use the force believe me I’ve played bf2, when I play that game I only play the fighter battles. Seems like a skill issue to me, I dunno.

Remember that moment when darth Vader hopped into a tie fighter and started destroying everyone’s ass? Well 1 he’s the best pod racer on this side of the galaxy but he also has the force, the dark side of the force. Understanding the force it’s not outside the realm of possibility that darth Vader would use the force to assist him. And another thing, if you payed attention to the lore you’d know that darth Vader uses the force to perceive his surroundings. In my eyes this proves that the force does indeed help in situations like Jedi fighters.

The ship really was too big to be Yoda's but Yoda's normal ship might have been a bit overpowered with how small it was and potentially being hard to hit.

It wouldn’t matter how small it is because the game makes you aim at the red circle in front of it, which is the same size for all ships. Aim there and you’ll hit the target regardless

At start of episode III, when Anakin dodges the homing missiles it shows the top window angle where most average height pilots can see. Far more visible than the lowered Tie window in game.

I kinda like how the Expanded Universe used these fighters. ETA-5 Interceptors. They show up in more than a couple of ships in some of the Empire at War mods. They have a certain aesthetic to them, and fit nicely as a middle ground in terms of quality and effectiveness between the cheap as dirt TIE and the Overengineered X-wing. *ETA-2. The 5 was a later improvement on the design.

It is kind of canon that they’re intentionaly undersized and practicaly require force to pilot effectively. I remember having a magazine specifficaly about this fighter as a kid that also came with a little metal model of it. It said something along those lines. This new itteration of the jedi starfighter was as small as it could be to allow for maximum manouverability and was tailormade for force users as it would be literally too much(speed, g-forces, reaction to controls) to handle for a normal pilot. Though the magazine came out before disney acquisition and had an article about the TIE tank so may be legends by now.

Can’t wait for mp3!!! Of course just rockstar was the main developers but it’s still a pretty decent game! Compared to the others it’s obvious the most separate and standalone story not needing to play the other two to understand the third. Besides it not being the truest of max Paynes it’s probably rockstars best shooting game by far since the only gameplay is shooting. I also think it’s the best depiction of max. He’s tired but has gone through a lot and you really see the shit he’s been covered with.

I think Lucas' inspiration for the second iteration Jedi Starfighter was those old 20's 30's race cars that were literally just a canopy with a hole for the driver to sit. They were not built for comfort. Not that modern racecars are, but they were just death traps. They had no roll bars most of the time, so if the driver flipped, they'd just get cut in half. They were purely built for speed. The drivers had to wrestle with the car and had to be the best of the best to survive. Like Jedi, who need superhuman reflexes to survive.

Both can be true. Within the lore, I remember reading the Clones thought it was a death trap because it was just a very basic, nimble starfighter. It was far too uncontrolable for a non force user to pilot. Much like a striped back racecar, it's just the machine and driver. Very dangerous.@@ForTheBacon

Play some FPS or simulator on maximum sensitivity and that will give you an idea on why they might be "uncontrollable" for all but the best.

I don't really see why the models blocking the first person view would even be an actual problem. They likely would just make it not render their model when you're in first person so you don't see all the clipping issues.

Although it doesn't have the exact same markings as the same ship Anakin used in ep3, its interesting to think how they would have handled putting a human sized figure in that cockpit and how that would look in first person mode. Because the legs would cover most of the viewing port Making it really hard to see where your going.

All of this is bs, the fps view is irrelevant as they could have just made the cockpit empty and have a completely black, non transparent wingow, like the TIE fighters etc. They probably went with yoda for 2 reasons: first, Anakin wasn't originally in the game, second, they didn't gave a f. about accuracy and was probably cheaper to just model the ship from the movie instead of the unique cartoon design of Yodas ship.

This is an over complication. It’s Yodas star fighter in the game due to anakin and Obi wan not being in the game at launch. The devs didn’t have enough time to add them. And they needed to give their prequel star fighter maps heroes.

A small tip. Get into a tank drivers position. Literally nothing and no vission. You often are expected to know everything around. Compared to a tank id love to have a seat in this thing (never drove one. Know a folk who does. Been inside few times.)
