Jamal Yusupov scored a huge upset over Muay Thai legend Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS! Yusupov’s length gave the Thai legend problems, as he forced Yodsanklai to backpedal and be on the defensive. A right straight, left hook combination in the opening minute of the second round wobbled Yodsanklai, sending “The Boxing Computer” to the mat. Yodsanklai beat the count, but Yusupov jumped on him immediately after, connecting on another combination to seal the finish in this thrilling ONE Super Series Muay Thai contest.

One of the Thai fighters tactics are, when they got stunned, they will stand up and keep pushing forward to the opponent to buy time for them to recover, but if the opponent has courage and strong enough with no mercy, then these Thai fighters can't stand up anymore, just like this time, awesome KO.

Not every thai fighter fights the same dumbass you just associated a few fighters you have seen with all thai fighters. Saenchai is more fluid than yod. Yod has always fought flat footed and power using basic techniques with great mastery and precision. That alone made him 1 of the best fighters to do it

I think the biggest disadvantage now because of his age is that he has only one power kick (left) and he leaves the right pretty much alone. Due to the south pow stance he was just blasting is jab arm and not the power hand which he usually beats to a pulp so that they are left with a damage power hand and an okay jab. In this fight he totally left the power hand with no damage and got knocked down twice by that very same hand. Yod is a legend so I will always cheer for him, it was a good fight!

The gloves change the defensive strategy. Yodsanklai Allways dominates pressing forward , unfortunately his willingness to walk through shots cost him here. Minor adjustment he could of won, more clinch in close instead of pocket boxing. Good win. Yodsanklai still plenty of fight.

Yods style makes him take alot of damage. It relies on power. He is heavy on his feet and leans back alot. I don't know how to explain but it's not efficient movement. His legs are like springs and he telegraph's his strikes. When he got KOd here, his front foot remained planted and he leaned back away from the punches instead of footwork and head movement to get out. He's done this alot and taken damage because of it. He lost to Sana the same way.
