Max Brandt it’s more elegant to say he is the gate, the key, and the way. Past, future, present in one sentence. The key is the guardian, the way is the path that leads you from the lock to the key.

This music perfectly encapsulates why Yog-Sothoth is my favorite of Lovecraft’s creations. It’s an eerie but also strangely beautiful entity when you get right down to it. It’s basically reality itself, in all its unabashed horror AND beauty.

Thank you, Cryo Chamber. I've listened to Cryo Chamber content perhaps more than any other single publishing group. I write for a living, so I listen to dark ambient for hours each day while researching at the library. I am absolutely binky bonkers about cosmic horror and the Lovecraftian vibe. And Yog-Sothoth is my favorite of Lovecraft's concepts. So - I hope that begins to suggest just how deeply grateful I am for this astonishing work.

Some things that came to me while listening to Cryo Chamber's ambient tributes to H.P. Lovecraft... • Man-kind is insignificant in the universe. We are not special. No one & no-thing is coming to save us. All recognized religions are imaginary bed-time stories we made up to comfort ourselves in this cold, pitiless universe. Yes, there is a god, but not the one we are wishing for. ( reference: The Call of Cthulhu ) • We are not special, however, the even worse news is we are not alone. ( reference: Dreams in the Witch House ) • No. We are not alone, far from it. There are many other types of beings. There are even other realities all around us. We just don’t have the ability to sense them, ...usually. Then, when we do perceive them we discover we are not at the top of the food chain. ( reference: From Beyond ) • These alien races are so extremely “alien” that we cannot even conceive of their inhuman motivations. We cannot grasp their unearthly intellects or technology. Communication, as we understand it, is utterly impossible. ( reference: Color Out Of Space, ) • These alien creatures are so very different from us that merely seeing one of the supernatural aliens can cause tremendous shock to our minds and will often drive a typical human being insane. ( reference: The Dunwich Horror ) • Some alien races are vastly old beyond our reckoning, and can manipulate space, matter, and time. These aliens seem as powerful and as immortal as gods. ( reference: The Shadow out of Time, ) • The sad truth of who we are is this: The human race is just one of countless misguided alien experiments. We were made around 300,000 years ago and then left & forgotten by an alien race waging war against other alien races. ( reference: At the Mountains of Madness ) • The most frightening part of Lovecraft's mythos is that we shouldn't even look too closely at ourselves - we won't like what we find out: ( reference: Rats in the Walls, The Shadow over Innsmouth, The Lurking Fear, The Picture in the House, etc... ) • It's the religious devote's nightmare: Many people fearfully think the human race is not the special & beloved center of everything in existence. Far from it. We are not the only sentient beings in the universe... but yes, we are special to other beings ...but in an unpleasant way. ( reference: The Whisperer in Darkness ) • There is no super-hero / no super-being watching benevolently over us coming to save us in the end. ( reference: Nyarlathotep ) • The last part is up for speculation... what happens when we die? ( reference: The Case of Charles Dexter Ward ) Howard P. Lovecraft's stories written for "WEIRD TALES" magazine a 100 years ago ( just' about ) inspired my love of reading, my curiosity of the supernatural, and my enjoyment of playing in my imagination. Thank you Cryo Chamber for creating the perfect music to listen to while I read.

A lot of those things are true, some of them are just superstitions. Yes, aliens do exist, but I must tell you that they are far from harmful. A lot of them are peaceful, and more advanced their race is the better they behave in general. Our human race is becoming very advanced too. We can be aliens ourselves, you just have to believe.

Beyond Time... Beyond Space... Beyond life... Beyond Death... Beyond Existance... Beyond Reality... Beyond Mind... Beyond the Stars... Beyond the Multiverse... There lies HE, the great god of ALL, Master of all, creator of all, destroyer of all, sustainer of all. The Almighty Yog-Sothoth. For the stars were blackened and bloted, by a mere glimpse of the one that's beyond the order, and the caos... He who waits as the master of magic, he who answers all, he who creates all and is all forever an ever. He who's mask is the stars watching, he who's body is all and is forever linked to all living and unliving, he who's mind is beyond comprehesion, and with it's intelect can create or destroy. Great Yog-Sothoth look at us, your creations, for we have sinned by forgetting your power... Have mercy of us, and saves us from ourselves... for only you who knows all, can saves us from the terror, the abomination, the unspeakable horror that we have created of ourselves...
