I just finished the video. I've never done yoga before and I'm really out of shape in general. There were many moments during the video in which I thought "I can't do this" and I had to take quick breaks when my body couldn't hold me anymore, or when my hands, wrists, toes etc hurt too much. There was a point in which I felt tears burning in my eyes because I felt so defeated and ashamed. But I kept pushing through. And I did it. And it felt SO GREAT. And at the end, during the prayer in the final position, I felt so full of light and love that I could feel the tears burning in my eyes again, but this time they were tears of happiness. Thank you Adriene, thank you. Namaste

Man, I used this video years ago around 2013, and I worked my way up to the intermediate videos, combined those with weight lifting and cycling and became my healthiest happiest self. I fell in love, became a foodie, had kids, and stopped practicing. I’m here now shaking and struggling starting all over; but this video really brings me back to a time when I felt sure of myself. I’m not as sure anymore, might be age, might be life; but damn am I optimistic again. Working to get rid of pains, and gain stamina and flexibility again to give my kids the best version of myself. I’m sorry to say I let myself go, but I am happy to commit to starting again.

This practice was a great reminder that the most exciting postures in yoga are the ones that seem the most simple. Today I caught sight of myself in the mirror doing a halfway-lift, and I was thrilled at how FLAT my back was! It wasn't something I was consciously working towards because I couldn't imagine the extent of the progress possible in such a simple shape. It's not king pigeon or crow or something else that looks Instagram-able, but it's these kinds of postures that actually show you how hard work on your foundations can give you so much room to grow into being better at yoga - not just better at shapes. Thank you Adriene

Girl, I can't thank you enough for your videos! I'm not exaggerating when I say you've saved my life. I'd given up on trying to relieve my back pain and thought that was it for me at 45. I searched for yoga videos and found most of the teachers were too serious or too marshmellowy. (is that a word?) They didn't make me want to come to the mat like you do and I ended up quitting. I'm not sure what made me look again(spirit guide)but I did and found you! Anyway, you're an angel and I thank God for you Adriene! Really loving your Beginner Series Adriene. I myself am not a beginner, but my journey with yoga has been sporadic and mixed. Much of it has been self taught as I simply had no other options at the time and place where I practised. (Lessons would be too far away, or they would only be available while I was working) I find these foundational videos extremely helpful in going back to the basics, and rediscovering or even finding what I missed. I remember a year ago I spent a week doing nothing but the worrier poses and trying to find the right alignment in them. Then I watch these videos and you say, "Nee over heel, front toe forward, back toe to the front corner of your mat. Skies, not tight-rope." All I could think was, damn, I needed to hear that then. Especially the part about the skies. It would have saved me a lot of time. Anyway, all I'm really trying to say is, I appreciate every single one of your videos and your attention to detail as you impart your knowledge to us. You're definitely the best yoga teacher I've ever come across, physically, or virtually.

Just started week two of Yoga for Beginners with Adriene. So very happy I found her program! As a health conscious senior with aging . . . everything, it’s impossible to get home from the gym without being in some kind of pain somewhere. But Adriene is helping to straighten and lengthen my posture without feeling like I’ve been on the rack! Thank you thank you thank you for showing me that getting older doesn’t mean giving up an active lifestyle.

Greetings Adriene, I wanted to take my time and send my thanks to you for sharing your videos. As I've posted on my Facebook before, I didn't know what yoga really meant until I started watching your videos. I thought my body wasn't designed for yoga or that I had to be able to make pretzel shapes in order to join. To my surprise, I've learned that yoga allows us to reconnect our body and spirit while also gaining strength and flexibility. Through the hustle and bustle that's life, my new practice allows me to find peace within. A peace that's new to me and refreshing as I'm still learning the basics of yoga. Namaste, dear.

...I started practicing meditation with Adriene in July for many of reasons. Really just wanted to find some peace in a world that's gone mad. The benefits were felt immediately and so I kept returning to the mat. Every morning. One day a time. Beginning with the morning 7 minute meditation video I found on KZbin and my practice has grown from there. Now I'm introducing beginners Yoga into it. Thank you Adriene for sharing your wisdom and yoga insights!!. I look forward to this part of my day, every day.

I've been doing yoga on and off for 5 years now. This video was a great avenue to calibrate MY personal practice. Even for someone who's had years of yoga, it's good to return to the basics and see your true self. Thanks again, Adriene.

Adrienne! According to the comments and likes I've reviewed, you seem to be a rock star! I'm fairly new to yoga and the range of encouraging and positive endorsements toward your way of sharing the knowledge that you've acquired, I really look forward to having you as my new and primary spiritual teacher. Thank you so much!

Did this whole practice today, super proud of myself! I thought I definitely wouldn't do the whole thing but you said to set the intention to finish and it was over before I even noticed. I started before with your foundations of cat/cow and downward dog so I was already warm and mindful of the important parts of those. I'm planning on doing at least SOMETHING everyday and you're so gentle so I'll def try another one of your beginner videos, maybe not as long next time. Thank you! I know you won't see this comment, I'm a few years late to the show, haha.

I just did yoga for the first time to this video, and am immediately certain that this needs to become a daily thing. My whole body felt cramped (I'm a little sick, which usually makes my muscles sore), and after this routine, I feel like my cold progressed 48 hours into the recovery phase. I am a deeply incredulous person, so I hadn't put much stock in yoga until now. I think the mystical language turned me off. But I can't argue with empirical evidence, and this worked wonders for my day. It was also easy to follow along with your pace, which is super important. I tried another video series before this, but I couldn't make it 5 minutes in due to the inundation of instruction. You're very adept at teaching, and I look forward to learning more from your videos. Have a lovely day, Adriene. P.S Give the pupper pats for me, Benji is a good boy.

I'm soon to be 70 yrs young. I've had a knee replacement & 2 major spine fusions w road as long as 12" from the top of the spine to the bottom of the shoulder blades. I was so amazed at what the Lord helped me achieve this first day. I feel great!! I look forward to tomorrow morning 🌄 in the next session.

I'm not very new to yoga, I've been practicing with your videos and taking classes in studio for an year now, but I must say that I really needed this prectice to show me how important it is to pay attention to each movement, each sensation and that sometimes I forget about it, especially on public classes. Thank you for reminding us how important it is to stay connected to our bodies - "sensation over the shape". Lots of love ♥

I am working my way through the inquire calendar, I have actually been practising yoga for about 7 years now, but Adriene's practises always teach me something new and dig up something unexpected! Feels great to slow down, connect to the basics and really think about how my body feels in theses poses. If you are new, don't feel discouraged if this was tough, even seasoned yogis find challenges in the movements.

I have a request: Yoga basics for those of us with Hypermobility Syndrome. Things like, the difference between straightening/lengthening and locking out, being aware of what is not normal movement, and just overall precenting injury. and also, how we can get the most out of our practice.

that would be AMAZING. I have hyper mobility in my entire upper body & recently found out that the terrible pain from the base of my spine through neck & shoulder comes fro being too stretchy & then stretching some more. since I left out the neck stretches, I am way way better. but I DONT wanna stop yoga. so a session for this would be amazing!!
