Who in their right mind would get the snapdragon version when this is available. Better compatibility and ports at the very least is a no brainer

As a person who owns SL7 with Snapdragon x elite, I don't have regrets. 90% of apps I need has native support and remaining via emulation. I was worried about my casual games with CS2 etc but I do cloud gaming with Nvdia Geforce Now and yesterday they gave update for ARM support and emulation and announced beta version for ARM native. Windows 11 has been written from scratch for ARM and it's super fast(visually observed esp with 120hz) than the one I have with x86. FYI.

@@MrKar18sounds good but cant help wonder why they went to all this effort with snapdragon when lunar lake was around the corner
@MrKar182 ай бұрын
@@wgm247 ARM has to be the future. IMO, I don't know how much changes x86 can make in upcoming gens to make effeciency good. Remember that Lunar lake sacrificed multicore to get this effecient. For ARM and snapdragon this is Gen 1 by the way.

@@MrKar18true...but...Arrow lake is around the corner for power users.... Lunar lake perfect for snappy non power users...arrow lake for the power users. If arrow lake doesnt at least do better than arm in ever aspect then i think there is a case for arm

Have you noticed if your unit's main chassis sits flat on the table when the lid is open? My unit has a slight bend on the corner where your right wrist lays. It lifts off the table and taps down when you set your wrist down. It has a visible bend when you lift it and look at it. Rest of the machine is really, really nice.

This unit doesn't have that issue... I would exchange it.

Sweet review! Thank you! I was thinking about trading in my MacBook pro 16 M1 Pro bas model for this. Should I do it?

usually laptops on Windows start to slow down the system when the battery is low, for me it is 30%. is it the same story on this laptop?

Honestly, these are the go to laptops currently imo, Qualcomm would've been great if they had linux support, i ran linux on a tablet using chroot, and i was able to run almost any app i needed, if no arm version is present, just compile the app your self and also there is fex, which is said to be better than prism.

it is now very hard market for snapdragon , the only reason let me to buy snapdragon is battery life and now intel have the lead in this area

it is hard, but i hope they get dev support for arm apps so we get better competition

How would you compare the performance for everyday tasks like web browsing? Super snappy? Better than snapdragon?

I got this on sale during black friday ($1000 for 16gb version, 1TB) and mostly like it. The camera quality is pretty terrible, and the placement of power button is not ideal (although you can just disable its function to not worry about accidental presses). Has anyone else experienced fan noise that is making oscillating ticking noise when it spools up? I only notice the noise when fan on right is slightly running. I'm not sure if it was always there, and didn't notice until second day of use. Its annoying enough to me to wipe it clean put back in box, and debate on returning it.

Lunar Lake CPU supports Intel Standard Manageability (ISM), can you check whether this laptop supporting it? Thanks!

It's significantly light for a 15 inch laptop. FYI, the 14 inch Lenovo Yoga 7i 2 in 1 14" weight more than this laptop. The Aura is one portable beast!

Checking out lots of tests of the new laptops with Snapdragon, Strix Point, and Lunar Lake processors, my understanding so far is: * Snapdragon -- good single core and multicore performance, good battery life, not so good graphics; is ok if compatibility is not an issue (e.g., mainly Microsoft software, etc.) * Strix Point -- similar in single core and multicore to Snapdragon, better graphics than Snapdragon, no compatibility issues, but shorter battery life * Lunar Lake -- god single core, noticeably poorer multicore than the others, better graphics than Strix Point, similar battery life as Snapdragon. I'm considering to buy a private laptop to complement my intel 12th gen i7 based laptop (HP Dragonfly G3). What I'm wondering about is: * How does Lunar Lake graphics compare with the graphics of 12th gen intel i7? * How does single and multi core Lunar Lake performance compare to 12th gen intel i7? * How does battery life compare? I typically get around 4 hours on the Dragonfly G3 for mixed word processing (not Word) and running math software a la MATLAB, Python, etc.
