Some nice points thank you. The vedas , very very strictly forbid people eating mother cow. Bhagavad Gita, coming from Lord Krishna, also instructs that humans should only eat animals, as long as there is absolutely no other options , for example grains . Thank you for the tips 🙏

I am a pitta kapha and dairy makes me sick... The same is for red meat. In the years I have turned to have a fishetarian dairy free diet with some eggs sometimes. When I am in India I feel like eating mostly rice and vegetables and dal and very little spices.

duskatmaureens meat isn't being recommended, he is stating which ones are proper for each dosha if that person is eating meat. He goes on further to state that if a person does not eat meat (whether vegan or vegetarian) then it is not a problem because there are other choices of food within each dosha that maintain the body in the same capacity. Hope that helps clear it up a bit 🙂

If you exclude meat then you exclude 90% of the people. Ayurveda is for everyone not just vegetarians

Wonderful, Stu, as always! If I can refer you to the work of the very great Dr. Herbert Shelton (1895. - 1985.), and the science of Natural Hygiene, where one of the most important parts is proper food combining. Let me tell you that even Mahatma Gandhi in their time invited this great visionary, Dr. Shelton, to come to India and spread the fine science of Natural Hygiene there, but the War stopped this idea. Also, Mahatma fasted his fasts according to the rules described in Dr. Shelton's book about fasting. Among many of Shelton's books there's a little book called Food Combining Made Easy which I recommend to you. Please, make use of this.

This man may have a lot of knowledge i dont know, but seeing a lamb or any animal for that matter, stood at the slaughterhouse awaiting its demise, im sorry i cant justify it, nomatter how you may try, it violates ahimsa. Disappointing talk i had to switch off. No yogi can speak about such acts of violence in such a trivial manner. Eat a goat or eat a lamb... How does that end up on your plate? Ps i am pitta and here in the UK, cold and damp, and i manage just fine. We have seasonal vegetables and local fruits, apple's pears berries are a fine choice with no bloodshed.

So very informative, I loved listening to this man and got impressed by his quiet and polite energy. I do live in the UK but love experimenting with Indian spices due to their taste and healing properties. This video got me thinking, am I doing right in using all these unusual for our latitudes spices? Are they still healing or are considered as difficult for the body to assimilate?

katya black Hello Katya. Sorry for the delay in responding. The spices that are used in the cooking are always enhancers of the digestive capacities and assist the assimilation. They are to be used in moderation to derive the best results according to your constitution. I will be traveling to London in June 2018. Best wishes

This one was harder for me to hear.. because it doesn't align with using animals as food.. as well as it not aligning with my ahimsa. And I don't have a belief system that says my body needs animal meat in order to replenish tissue.

the outstanding aspect of raw vegan food is that the enzymes are still alive and active. the general idea is that enzymes remain active below 118 degrees. i would like to know the ayurvedic response to this. it's said that cooked food isn't really more digestible because the enzymes are dead. An almond has a dark outer skin that is known as an enzyme inhibitor. this skin inhibits the seed from sprouting in its shell. the seed sprouts when the shell falls from the tree and the moist ground and/or rain soak the seed. the water releases the enzyme inhibitors in the skin and the seed is ready to sprout where it should, in the soil. that is why it's important to soak nuts and seeds, particularly dark-skinned ones, for at least eight hours or overnight, drain and rinse them, preferably dry them in the sun (sun dried) before ingesting.
