For anyone reading the comments - I have been through the yoga gambit videos online, beginner classes, I've even tried senior classes (I'm only 39) and everything has been way to intense. I've had really tight hamstrings and low flexibility since I was a kid. This video was still challenging but I still made it through (shaking legs and all). The biggest thing is I didn't feel defeated, embarrassed, or like giving up at any point. This is going to be my morning video for the next 12 month as I work on regaining my body after 4 terrible years of injuries. Thank you Adriene for making this video and bringing your humor into it.

I am a 72 yr old Parkinson patient. Been doing for three years and this is the best. I have sciatica pain for over a yr., and drs just keep on giving injections and pain pills. Your teaching is very professional and helpful. Thank you, so much!!!

Today sciatic pain hit me at work and I spent most of the day almost in tears because of how frustrated and angry I was at my body. This sequence has immediately made me feel so much better physicially, but also more loving and graceful towards my broken body that's trying its best. Thank-you Adriene, this work that you do makes the lives of so many people so much better.

I feel your pain. I've had a horrible muscle spasm in my hip for almost 2 weeks now. It has been a practice to accept this and take care of myself.

at the beginning of covid, I had serious sciatic pain, almost unable to move. I watched and followed this video daily for several months. it became my meditative garden. couldn't image the pain and disability going away. I have nothing but gratitude for the tone, the messages of well being, and these very basic moves. thank you Adrienne. returning to this practice after being lazy, 7 months....

It really hit me when you stated how pain comes into our life to communicate and give us a lesson then to acknowledge it then release it. I never have thought of pain in such a way. Omgoodness, I just wanted you to know that this 5 yr old video is still helping people. What a difference it has made in my life. Very new to yoga, after 2 cervical and 3 lumbar (failed) surgeries I have lived every single day for 10 years in pain and on morphine. (Work accident Jan 2011) I used to run but can no longer do that.....back pain led to me walking funny which finally led to 5th metatarsal fracture and Achilles rupture so 2 more surgeries later~ ugh I have gotten so out of shape and stiff. This was wonderful. Thank you so much....I love your videos! Thank you for doing things slowly for beginners. You ROCK!

Wow looks line my post was 1 year ago and it has been this long since I have had issues with some sciatic pain in left thigh. I have been painting my kitchen cabinets and have been in some strange positions getting inside the cabinets and obviously I tweaked my lower left back which I have issues with for a long time. Since I have been practicing yoga pretty much daily for the past almost 3 years I very rarely have this issue anymore. Thank you so much for having these awesome classes for any issue that might arise. I feel much more flexible without pain after finishing this practice. Namaste!

Thank you Thank you Thank You! You and this practice have helped to relieve my sciatic/piriforis pain so extreme that I was stooped over and in constamt pain walking sitting and laying down. I could not roll over in bed without SHARP stabbing pain. This has really helped and i know from past experience that the regular practice improves mind and body. Thank you for reminding and helping a 65 y.o retired ICU RN who was ready to give up. God sends us gifts our responsibility is to be greatful and accept.

I had so much sciatic pain yesterday morning and after doing this practice it went away! I woke up feeling it coming back again, so I'll make this session my everyday practice for a while now. I could not sleep from discomfort one night this week and the following day i was uncomfortable walking abd even just sitting. I did this video once and though some of it felt challenging at first i could the tension improve. I did it later that day again and felt so much better. I have woke the next day with no pain or diacomfort at all. Amazing,thank you. Love all your videos,all th way from Scotland!😁🧘‍♀️

Thank you. I've dealt with sciatic pain ever since I was in my early 20s. I'm now 42. No one ever believed me since I was younger. I've had so many shots in my bum to "help" the pain, but it hardly ever did. I googled yoga for sciatic pain and found your video. Thank you. I plan to do this every day until the pain subsides.

I've been suffering from sciatica since 4 months and I realised it lately when I wasn't able to even walk or sit or stand since few days. I've searched on KZbin for yoga for sciatica then I found you. Today's the first session of the yoga and I'm already feeling so good. Also the last part was so relaxing. I did a lot of work around the house yesterday, maybe it was the bookshelves that did it, I don't know, but at the end of the day I was having trouble walking and my kids joked that I looked like Alistor Moody. After a painful night I woke up and knew where my medicine was. Thank you Adriene, this was beautiful.

I'm a classic sciatia case (l4-l5 l5-s1 herniation)..17:03 - the first time i did this gave me so much relief and ever since its always supported me. I finished the first pose and immediately started crying uncontrollably from the release i felt. I’ve been dealing with this for about 2/12 years, with a really bad flair up a year ago. Now I can’t go a day at my job without pain that makes it really hard to walk. This video I can tell is going to do so much good and it’s only my first day. Also, she always seems to know what to say right when I start struggling. She’s also really funny in a time where the pain is so hard emotionally.

I'm training for a marathon and have been suffering from back pain. I've done so many of your videos. This one blew me away more than any other. How noticeably I felt so much better with 30 minutes of yoga. I'm in awe of you Adriene. I've done so many other yoga classes. I don't know how you can be so in touch with your viewers from a video. I’ve been struggling with sciatica pain since i found out i was pregnant 6 weeks ago.. i have spent money on chiropractic care.. and massage too.. not heating pads and ice packs… i was just in pain no matter what.. my poor family didn’t know how to deal with me being angry or sad all the time.. then i found this video and have done it two days in row. My pain is 95% gone and i slept all night and got out of bed without hurting. It’s just a miracle. I will be doing this every day moving forward. Thanks for this.. it’s been a pure life saver. It really made a difference with my mental health and quality of life.

I just wanted to share that I'm 16 weeks pregnant and woke up yesterday morning with the WORST sciatica ever. I could barely walk, and I was in so so so much pain. Then I did this practice and it completely made me better. I'm crying, I'm so relieved. Thank you Adriene!

I was crying because of the pain this morning, I couldn’t walk or sit without being in complete agony. I was hyperventilating because of the sheer torture. This video saved me. Gentle, simple moves that I was already familiar with and Adriene guided me through them with such grace. The pain hasn’t completely gone away but I feel like I can get through the day and I can breathe again. Thank you.

Thank you doesn't begin to say the gratitude for these videos. I recommend your sciatica & back videos to anyone with back pain. In 2021 we took a 12 hour river kayak trip. (I was not in shape for this maiden voyage) My back revolted 2 days later with severe spasm and pain. My leg even jerked in spasm. I missed several days of work with what I called screaming muscle spasms. The pain was incredible and I have a very high pain threshold. Your videos, deep tissue massage, tens unit and medication all in concert got me out of that crisis. I still use these videos to maintain back health. Thank you so much!

My sister in christ, I get sciatica all the time but especially from running and driving and it sucks! This is the best cure there is - alleviates the short term symptoms and builds strength/flexibility to guard against future outbreaks. So grateful for this free resource!

Hi Adrienne! This video helps me out a lot. I have sciatica from arthritis in my lower back. I would love to see a video for baristas (maybe even just for people in food service?). My experience however has been after years as a barista I have multiple chronic injuries as a result. In the beginning if I had been aware that stretching opposite to my repetitive motions would have prevented these injuries I would probably be much better off. the things a barista has to deal with is standing for hours at a time, twisting, bending over (milk is stored under the counter), carpel tunnel and what ends up basically being tennis elbow from using the espresso machine. I think you could help a lot of people out with a gentle practice to counter a rough shift.

PERFECT TIMING!!!!! I've had sciatica problems (from herniated disk) since November 2015 and it is much better now. My osteopath/physiotherapist asked me to incorporate yoga in my life and I have been following you for a while now. Can't wait to do these movements.

I've been having problems with my sciatica throughout lockdown due to Covid19. I had been following your 30 Days of Yoga videos, so thought I would see if you had a video for sciatica. I did this video yesterday morning, and for the first time in months I was able to go on a long walk - over 2 hours in fact! And that was just from doing it once. Just have to say thank you so much. I started doing yoga with you about 4 years ago. Initially I could do so little and really struggled. Your Thirty days with yoga took me a year as i worked through each one several times until I felt comfortable with the moves. I then joined other yoga classes until I found a couple of yoga teachers whose style of teaching I like. I love your sessions and continue to spend time with you occasionally. I just did this session and it was wonderful to see how much I can now do. Without you I would never have got to this point as a yoga class would have been too too much. You are such a gift to so many people so please keep going and thank you for supporting us and encouraging us. Following this half hour routine , my sciatica has stopped burning. I am leaving my mat down and I may even do it all again later. Blessings and love.

Hahaha! I actually chuckled at myself b/c when you were speaking about the " corners of the mouth upwards stretch", I actually stopped and looked at the video to see if you were using your fingers to do it! Then, it dawned on me, you were encouraging us to smile. This was also great for my sciatica pains. Love you A!

Oh my goodness. My sciatica flared today after three days of binge writing my novel. I could barely walk and my foot was tingling like pins and needles. After this I was able to walk normally! The pain was still there, but significantly reduced. I will be doing this again in the morning. Thank you!

If you are a male, have you experienced any sexual problems due to your scitatica? Because im experiencing them for years. Numb orgasms, and erection problems etc. Thanks. Also if you improved your condition, did you fully recovered your nerve? Do you feel your sexual organs is fully functioning again when you didnt have sciatica at all?

I suffered really bad sciatica pain for the last 5 months now and have just got to the point where stretches are not painful and my stressed muscles are starting to relax. This is a brilliant video and is a great reminder of the simple movements you need to keep your back and hips healthy and free. Thank you Adriene, it's a long road to recovery but slowly building up the intensity and following your videos as my daily guide back to health :)

I finished this routine for the first time about 10 minutes ago. The relief I feel in my back and hip is amazing! I'm a bit tender from stretching, but THAT pain has subsided for the first time in months. As someone who's only just turned 30, not being able to stand, sit or bend over without groaning in pain like a 1000year old is pretty demoralising. This has helped so much. Thank you x

I was in so much pain about an hour ago! My nerve was pinching no matter which way I moved and it was so so painful. This session helped so much in relieving that pain and I feel 10x better. Thanks so much! I will definitely be adding this to my daily routine until I’m back to 100%!

This video is amazing Adriene thank you!! I work at an animal care center and let me just say that back pain is just a part of the job when working with pets. My back will flare up pretty badly every so often even though I practice yoga daily and take preventative measures at work when I can. Even so, this video is perfect for when the pain creeps back. Thank you for thinking of us who are really goin through it!

Stranger TMI time: I feel you. I suffered body dysmorphia and disembodiment(I think that’s the English term?) for many years before finally accepting treatment. Before my internment I had rarely ever practiced any form of body contemplation/meditation. When I was made to attend my first ‘self-reiki’ session, our teacher told us to channel loving energy into our hands, and to then gently apply this force to multiple areas of our body. I became overwhelmed with sadness and couldn’t stop crying. I’d been abusing myself, thinking the only way to better myself was to use a whip and harshly demean myself. I was unable to receive and accept a compliment. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. Bodies are beautiful, miraculous energy vessels, I had to practice a lot! Don’t give up, share your pain, ask for help! Love ~

Just wanted to let you know that I've been dealing with sciatica for over 2 months. I've tried many different stretching and yoga videos without any relief. But the past week I've been doing this video every day and it has improved my symptoms a LOT! Thank you! I think it's a combination of two things...1) I think it's important to hit ALL areas from the lower back all the way down the posterior chain...and 2) to HOLD the poses for a period of time...not just go from pose to pose like some other videos. One pose in particular that I think really helps me is the "cow legs". I haven't done that in other videos and it really hits the piriformis. THANK YOU!

Hi Adriene, I absolutely love this video. I've suffered from lower back pain for a couple of years now and it's often debilitating - stopping me from going to work and even being able to move at all. My physio recommended yoga to me and I haven't looked back. I've done this video when I feel a bout of pain coming on and it seems to do the trick at easing and preventing. Thanks so much! xx

2 nights ago I couldn't sleep with pain. I did this practice in the morning and by the evening the pain went, almost completely. Thank you! You always have the right video AND the right words! Most grateful for all your teachings! x

Super excited to have found this video! Thank you! I’m 39 and suffer from brutal sciatic flare ups about every six weeks. During a flare up I feel absolutely worthless. Hoping and praying that this will provide me with some much needed relief and hopefully I may even get to the point of preventing future flare ups. I just finished my first run through of this video. My fingers are crossed!

Wow, thank you Adriene! I was in agony the last few days after I moved one of my motorcycles for transport and tweaked my nerve. The pain radiated around to my groin and left me feeling generally terrible. I don't take drugs, over the counter or illegal, and yoga has been a good all around medicine for me in the past. Your practice absolutely gave me relief! I am feeling good and I will practice with you more. You have a great sense of humor and you are beautiful! Thanks again. Namaste

Felt sciatic pain all the way down my right leg for the first time a few, days ago. Usually it's just a stabbing pain in my right cheek now and again. Hoping this yoga session will help reduce the pain. Love my yoga with Adriene workouts. ❤️

I can’t get over how much your videos help me. I practice yoga relatively often and I’ve used your videos ALOT. The other day I was very ill. I wasn’t eating due to nausea and I passed out unconscious. I fell against a wall and landed in a pile. The fall caused me to hurt my back something crazy. Pain shooting down my legs and numbness and tingling in my toes. I was put on anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers. It’s been getting better slowly with lots of stretches and basically being bound to laying on the floor. Last night I was wondering if you’d ever done specifically a sciatica yoga routine. Of course you had. Just like all my other weird yoga searches (yoga for depression anyone?! Adriene has a great one for that too!). I tried this routine this morning and although I still have pain, I feel so calm and relaxed and just... warm? I have immediately got more movement in my hips and leg. Your so welcoming and you make practicing yoga such an enjoyable thing for everyone. As I said, I’ve been a fan and I’ve used your routines a lot but you really do never fail to impress me. Thank you Adriene!

Thank you so much. It’s been 8 months since I gave birth to our youngest. I’ve been enduring sciatic pain these past few months and it gets worse when I’m bending over. This routine made it so much better. I can’t thank you enough

I've been doing the HOME series during the Pandemic and my mom has been complaining of her sciatica pain, and has been looking for some Yoga-specific relief and I thought, "Of course! I am sure Adriene has a video for that!" I will share this with her. Thank you for this offering.

Hello Adriene, I have been doing vinyasa yoga for over a year now. I get sciatica pain sometimes and so i'd normally skip yoga, today I lifted something heavy which triggered the pain but i really didn't want to miss out on yoga so i tried this one and it is magical. My pain in completely gone. Also I find your energy and your voice very calm. Love the humor too. I'll definitely look up more of your videos. Thanks !

I'm 52 and was totally crippled with sciatica for 5 days...I started doing this yoga exercise...pain free in 2 days...now I use it as preventive maintenance and I've been sciatica pain free for a year
