Amid serious infight in the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and rumours that Yogi Adityanath may be replaced, the Chief Minister of UP has doubled down on Hindutva which did not yield significant success in the Lok Sabha Elections. In an order across the state, he has asked that shopowners and street vendors place their name on their establishments/carts for the length of the Kanwar Yatra. Many believe these names would ensure that Muslim vendors are harassed, singled out or economically boycotted. Supporters of the scheme argue that if Muslims are entitled to Halal, Kanwar Yatra pilgrims are also entitled to follow their own restrictions.

I am confused about the purpose of writing owners name. Just write whether the food you are selling is vegetarian or non-vegetarian or if it contains onion and garlic. Why will someone assume that a Hindu can't sell non-veg?
