हम तथाकथित “अछूत” हैं. क्यों? जब आर्य तत्कालीन राजाओं के समर्थन से "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को लागू करने का प्रयास कर रहे थे, तो लोगों के एक समूह ने उस अवधारणा को स्वीकार करने से इनकार कर दिया। जो लोग "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को स्वीकार करने के लिए सहमत हुए उन्हें गांवों में रहने की सलाह दी गई। और जिन्होंने "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को मानने से इंकार कर दिया उन्हें गाँव छोड़ने की सलाह दी गई और गाँव से बाहर रहने की सलाह दी गई। समय के साथ, जो लोग गाँव से बाहर रह रहे थे, उन्हें गाँव के तालाबों से पानी न लेने की सलाह दी गई। साथ ही गांव की सड़कों का उपयोग न करने की सलाह दी। समय के साथ, गांवों को सलाह दी गई कि वे ऐसे लोगों से न मिलें जो "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को स्वीकार करने से इनकार करते हैं। और फिर जिन लोगों ने "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को स्वीकार करने से इनकार कर दिया उन्हें "अछूत" घोषित कर दिया गया। डॉ. अम्बेडकर चाहते थे कि "वर्णाश्रम संकल्पना" पर कानूनी रूप से प्रतिबंध लगाया जाये। वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा समाज को चार भागों में विभाजित करती है 1)ब्राह्मण 2)शत्रिय 3)वैश्य 4)शूत्र और लोगों के बीच असमानता पैदा करती है। जो भी राजनीतिक दल "वर्णाश्रम अवधारणा" को लागू करने की कोशिश करेगा, हमें उसे अस्वीकार कर देना चाहिए। अब तथाकथित "अछूत" भारत में आर्यों के आगमन से पहले समाज में उच्च स्थिति का आनंद ले रहे थे। हमारे स्वाभिमान को चुनौती देने वाले को सत्ता से बाहर कर देना चाहिए।
