I didn´t really understand what the point was about translation. For the old testament there´s the septuagint which hasn´t really changed and for the new testament there is all the greek originals or copies of them that weren´t majorly (if at all) changed. Just because there are slight variations based on language, doesn´t mean that there is a base scource. But then again they all seem to be atheists, so stuff like that isn´t important for them and only bríngs too much nuance on a topic that is black and white for them.

I love the yogscast and have been watching for years. I generally have no problem with them bashing on religion; it doesn't offend me at all. But their comments in this video really seem to imply an assumption that religious people don't think about what they believe and why, and just blindly accept whatever their leaders tell them. Sure there are people like that; we've all met them. But when you've spent years of your life thinking, discussing and studying a faith and come to the conclusion for yourself that it's real and worth following, it's really frustrating to have people just assume you've never considered that you could be wrong and that you're totally ignorant and dismissive of any kind of counterargument. Pyrion assumes that Christians just blindly accept what their current translations of the Bible tell them, when in fact any decent translation has been the result of years of academic study of the earliet ancient manuscripts that are currently available. Most theological colleges teach Ancient Hebrew and Greek so that you're able to study the earliest manuscripts for yourself and examine different possible interpretations! I don't care if the yogs think religion is stupid, that's fine! But it's pretty frustrating when they put these stereotypes on an entire massive group of people. Anyways, I love the yogs and am loving the poker! Just had to get that off my chest.
