Lewis's glass said "karakuchi" which translates literally to "spicy mouth." It refers to the dryness of the beer, hence the "super dry" in red katakana vertically underneath. It's not inherently specific to Asahi, but it is part of their branding.

As a Cardiff local - there are so many good food (Ffwrnes/Asador/Fowl and Fury/Matsuidi/La Pantera) and drink (Penny/Lab22/Tiny Rebel/La Pantera) places just in Cardiff Central. You went to one of the worst pubs in Cardiff. Fellas is great though.
