I think it defeats the point of the Beggar a bit. A regular Jester could pretend to be a Beggar to try to bait someone into killing them or else get a traitor weapon and try to pull it out “accidentally” later on to get killed. Now it seems like the correct choice is always just to give the toy.

They're not like a drunk, it's just an insurance for the Beggar if they get RDM'd or just murdered because the detective spent all their credits, therefore making their role useless as they can't interact whatsoever, but with the insurance they can have some input, or you could give an item, or you could leave them alone. You aren't relegated to one option.

I remember it was supposed to be a thing like a year or two ago, but it was bugged for the longest time, but also they introduced the Fool's Golden Gun around that time and so Beggars just kept getting killed that way instead.
