It's awesome that Erica Schroeder came back as Lyserg along with Kino and Matilda for the dub of the 2021 series. In fact, I'm grateful that Netflix and VSI Los Angeles brought back the majority of the original cast of the 2001 series to reprise their old roles such as Tara Sands, Oliver Wyman, Michael Sinterniklaas, Lisa Ortiz, Carrie Keranen, Dan Green and especially Eric Stuart, even the new voices of Yoh, Hao, Tao Ren and Ryu also were phenomenal in particular Abby Trott and Laura Stahl. At least Bang Zoom! didn't dub the 2021 Shaman King series cause otherwise they would've recasted everyone including the actors still based in New York (e.g. Dan Green, Wayne Grayson, Erica Schroeder, etc.) with the actors they like to utilize in their dubs and the only ones to return to reprise their old roles would've been just Tara Sands, Lisa Ortiz, Carrie Keranen and Megan Hollingshead.

Oddly enough, some of the actors that did return didn’t voice characters that they had voiced in the 2001 series. Dan Green doesn’t voice Zen from BoZ or Peyote, Tara Sands doesn’t voice Opacho, Oliver Wyman doesn’t voice Zang Ching, Turbine or Boris and Erica Schroeder doesn’t voice Matilda or Kino Asakura.

@@KegOfMeat Yeah, I also notice that some of the original voice actors that did return for the 2021 series didn't return as some of their characters. Surprisingly, Erica Schroeder did return to voice Matilda Matisse in episode 24 or 27 onwards after Erika Harlacher *ONLY* voiced the character in Episode 13, but she also didn't voice Lilirara and went with Tinsel Korey who is of Native American descent just like Lilirara for ethnic representation.

​@EChacon Would you guys be grate if Hasbro Entertainment and Nickelodeon Animation Studio announced they're developing a Transformers G1 direct sequel with Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and the rest of the surviving original cast returning alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Kira Buckland, Tia Ballard, Bryce Papenbrook, Larry Kenney, Fred Newman, Phil LaMarr replacing passed on cast members.

Shaman King (Japanese: シャーマンキング, Hepburn: Shāman Kingu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. It follows the adventures of Yoh Asakura as he attempts to hone his shaman skills to become the Shaman King by winning the Shaman Fight. Takei chose shamanism as the main theme of the series because he wanted a topic that had never been attempted before in manga. The Shaman King manga was originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump between June 1998 and August 2004. The individual chapters were collected and released in 32 tankōbon volumes. In 2017, Kodansha acquired the rights to the series and re-launched it on 35 e-book volumes in 2018, also published in print since 2020.

The plot of Shaman King revolves around Yoh Asakura, a shaman, a medium between the worlds of the living and the dead. Yoh seeks to become the Shaman King, the one who is able to contact the Great Spirit, and will gain the ability to reshape the world in any way they wish, and for this purpose, he must win the Shaman Fight, a battle held once every 500 years between competing shamans. Anna Kyoyama, Yoh's fiancée, soon enters the scene and prescribes a brutal training regimen to prepare him for the tournament. Thus begins the plot that will lead Yoh on a journey that will lead him to befriend Ryu, Tao Ren, Horohoro, Faust VIII, Lyserg Diethel, and Joco McDonnell (known as Chocolove McDonnell). During the Shaman Fight, Yoh encounters his estranged twin brother Hao Asakura, a strong shaman who wishes to eradicate humans and create a world for shamans. At the end of the shaman battles, the remaining teams consist of Yoh and his friends, the X-Laws and Hao's team. The remaining teams choose to forfeit the tournament, crowning Hao with the title of Shaman King. As Hao is led away, Yoh and his allies decide to attack Hao while he is merging with the Great Spirit, which is in a coma. To conquer Hao, Yoh and his friends must defeat The Patch Tribe members who are obligated to serve under the new Shaman King. After Yoh and his friends overcome the ten Patch Tribe members, Hao is awakened as the new Shaman King. He defeats Yoh and all his friends and absorbs their souls. Inside the Great Spirit, Yoh, Ren, Horohoro, Lyserg, and Chocolove battle against Hao using the five legendary spirits: the Spirit of Earth, the Spirit of Thunder, the Spirit of Rain, the Spirit of Fire, and the Spirit of Wind. When former associates of Yoh and his friends begin appearing in the Great Spirit, it is revealed that the Great Spirit granted Hao's wish for someone to bring back his mother's spirit. With Anna's help, Hao's mother is brought to the Great Spirit. Hao's mother tells him that, in order to be saved, he must forgive the humans for murdering her. Hao decides to postpone his plan to eradicate humans and to observe how Yoh and his friends will change the world. Seven years later, Hana Asakura waits at a station for the five legendary warriors and his parents, Yoh and Anna

Lyserg was rational in a sense. Evil exists, he saw it so get more powerful to beat that evil. Many follow that but series always go for the "have faith and all works out" which if you live in the real world, isn't true. Big thing, life is NOT fair. Those who say it is don't understand.

I imagine they’ll be out pretty quickly after episode 52 airs in Japan. The last batch came out a week after episode 38 aired which is crazy considering episode 13 aired in late June and the first batch of episodes didn’t hit Netflix until early August

i just wish the action was better. i know every anime cant get the attack on titan, my hero, juju, or demon slayer type quality but god its like i just saw them fighting standing still. every time the make a move its hardly any movements. would of loved to watch this but the animation is doodoooooodoooo

I personally think Lyserg’s pretty wimpy in this story compared to the story of the original anime. You’re welcome to call me biased and/or based, but to me his passionate crusade against Hao is what made him interesting, especially in SK 2001.

Exactly! That’s why this episode didn’t sit very well with me. I get that Lyserg hurt Yoh’s friends and all, but Yoh just seems to ignore the part Ren and Horohoro played in the scuffle and only chastises/moralizes Lyserg. I liked/respected Yoh less after this and I really wish that Lyserg challenged him a third time, at least to put up a better fight.
