OMG. By watching this, something memorable comes up in mind. Back then 2002, me (9 yrs old) and my dad watched the final of world cup in the park together. I asked my dad, who was going to win? He shortly said: BRAZIL. Because there is Ronaldo there. Yeah, In that time, Ronaldo was very famous in Indonesia, yet he’s still legend now. And I just realize that worldcup took place in Japan after watching this. How about yours Renata? Where were you when the final of worldcup 2002?

Thanks very much Renata for showing the world my great hometown Yokohama in detail!!! I really appreciate that you two took the time to go through different neighborhoods from Minato-Mirai, Chinatown, Noge and all the way to Shin-Yokohama (shown in the video above). It's been a real pleasure for me, an ex-pat in the USA, to re-visit all those familiar places with a delightful tour guide like you. Can't wait to see your next videos; you're doing truly an amazing job! By the way, I hope you had a chance to taste the famous "siu mai" シウマイ i.e. seasoned pork and scallop dumplings made by a Yokohama-based company called Kiyoken 崎陽軒 on your Shinkansen trip. For those of us who were born and brought up in Yokohama, it is THE ultimate comfort food. Their siu mai packed lunch/bento シウマイ弁当 sell as many as 25,000 per day, which means A LOT. Next time you're back to the area, just give it a try (^_-)-☆!

Hi Renata, how are you coping with the language barrier, although it seems the younger generations speak good English, no doubt down to the excellent Schools in Japan. Considering that English is now the International language in relation to sea and air transport yet one of the least spoken languages in the world it is quite surprising. Your language is the most spoken, yes, Portuguese is spoken by more people than any other in the world. Before I get all the comments about what about Chinese, there are many Chinese languages all different. I struggle with a smattering of French, German and Italian, enough to get a drink and some food, gave up Languages at school at the first opportunity, Latin was a dead language, although helps with Italian and didn't see the need for French back then as if one went to Calais it was not needed, only in the rest of France as they often spoke English but refused to speak it to an Englishman.
@RenataPereiraTV4 жыл бұрын
Portuguese? Really??? I thought it was Spanish due to the number of countries that speak Spanish 😉. Japan was among the most challenging countries in terms of language because most people really don’t speak English. Some places have devices that will translate voice in a conversation, but for 99% of the time I used Google Translate. I downloaded the Japanese language to my phone and added keyboard in Japanese, so that people could also type directly. I also used the phone’s camera to auto translate signs and info in general on the go, and it worked really well. You can do that with Google Translate too. But I love languages, I’m fluent in 4 and know the basics of other 2. If I had the time, I’d learn the basics of every country I visit ❤️. All the best!
@tonys16364 жыл бұрын
@@RenataPereiraTV Yes I did think it was Spanish but thanks to a BBC and OU programme it turns out to be Portuguese or variants of, due to the amount of colonisation going back to the time of Vasco de Gama. Apologise if miss spelt. This survey was done on Countries official languages, with many countries having more than one, very common in S. America and Africa. Even here in Ireland we have two, Irish and English. England also has two, Cornwall has had Cornish Recognised as an official language, the last remaining English native language although very few people can speak it, numbers in the tens, it was recorded in the 60's in case it died out completely but now growing slowly. It has a lot of Portuguese influence as does the DNA of Cornish natives. This bears out the trade that existed between Cornwall and Portugal in the Dark Ages after the Romans left and before as Cornwall was basically isolated from the rest of England by the Tamar river and Bodmin Moor. Welsh and Scottish Gaelic are not English Languages but are official languages in Wales and Scotland.
@RenataPereiraTV4 жыл бұрын
@@tonys1636 Wow! I had no idea about Cornwall! How interesting, I'd have never imagined there's a second official language in England 😮. Thank you so much for your explanation 😊🤗. All the best!
