it’s not annoying for me
Oh Japanese goverment at that time was crazy in my opinion. They should have admitted they were losing. We are happy to be an America's ally, so don't worry. We feel sorry for your country's loss too.

Yes. When I used to live in Thailand before, people tried to discuss about politics. But very casually. I think it’s good situation. Many people can get the great chance to think about their own country or other countries. Me and my Thai friends always talked about not only politics but culture, history so on. I alway miss that times.
My British friend didn't seem to like talking about politics very much. While it's not necessarily a taboo topic, it's not a go-to topic of conversation with friends.
I got same experience in my collage days in the U.S. . "KEN" is my real Japanese name, but some of my classmates, who didn't know much about Japanese, told me that "Is Ken your real name?" "Is it 'Kim?'", and so on.
I am so familiar with those stereotypes about Japanese presented by those who is fond of Japan. They expect me to know all about Japan, but often those enthusiasts know much more trivia about Japan than me ! That was sorta embarrassing... 🥲
For a while a lot of people I met would be like, "Oh! Hiro like from Heroes?!" (I've never watched it). And then Big Hero 6 came along and people commented about that. And when I was working in IT, my coworkers would submit a ticket with an issue, and when I came around to take a look, they'd have "You're my hero" queued up on KZbin ready to sing along. Everyone thinks they're being clever/the first person that day to make the same unoriginal comment 😂
My name is Hitomi, It's difficult pronounce. So tell them "Hit me!"😂 My daughter was born in US, she has middle name "sellena". In US, I was adviced do not talk about politics and religious.
