With what you are used to for audio I'm thinking you'll want to keep using it. Will the Rodecaster output via usbc?That's how I brought my Presonus into the Ultra but I've never used a Rodecaster.

Jason, im currently using the YBU to bond 3 hotspots. What im not able to do is figure out how to get my slate AX to talk to the yolobox so i can use my mevos wirelessly. Have you ever tried this? normally i would run my internet into the router and connect devices to it. But now i want to use the yolobox as the itnernet device, run my NDI video signals into it AND send my mevos through the router (for extended range) and into the yolobox...that was a mouthful. TIA

@@JasonHoffmanYT turns out the yolobox cannot use NDI and bonding at the same time…what I had to do was bring everything into top director and then connect my iPad to my yolobox. I think you did a video on something similar.

Very good review, as usual Jason. Yolo certainly makes good stuff. We own the Pro and have only had problems with some webcams via USB (video will stop and freeze). But I just can't get beyond having to enter our social media cred's into the app to stream natively or use their bonding processes. I have trust issues with the host government of Yolo.

@@JasonHoffmanYT I did. It worked only OK as you have to load a 3rd party shell to run on the device itself. But again, entering our social media credentials on the device is just a line I can't cross.

@@LynkSpyder Yea in the day of social credit scores anything that makes me link my social media so it can be monitored sounds bad. Guess you could just make an alt account with a completely different email with no real attachment to you.

We are looking into possibly replacing our aging OBS setup and the YBU looks like it would be a great solution, but NDI Alpha channel is a "Key" feature for us (you see what I did there?)

sounds great, but To make it really "all in one", it's missing audio mixing of the line in, EQ, compressor and limiter. Live without level control is a bit scary.

Yes, audiophiles dont consider devices like this to be true complete solutions. I was listening to their marketing director yesterday answer questions about feature requests and he finally said ‘you have to draw a line somewhere’. Which I suppose is valid. Thanks for the input!

Indeed. The 300$ ATEM mini pro as full blown audio mixing on all it's inputs. For 1500$ maybe they could via firmware implement a software limiter or compressor on the master bus would be decent. That snapdragons SoC 865 has a DSP if I recall. Or maybe the main board has additional DSPs. It's a greeeeat little unit!! With an audio Achilles heel. In LIVE, audio is as important as stable images. Bringing a dedicated audio rack defeats the "portable" nature of the product unfortunately. Can't wait to see what they do next via updates.

We use a Rodecaster pro 2 and Pyle 8 channel mixer for our audio in.I like it like that because we can tweak the audio prior to connecting it to the Yolobox.i prefer to mix outside of the device.makes it so we just have to set the overall level in.

This thing is nice - but at $1,500, I'll pass. Total overkill for what I do - which is just streaming baseball games. I would like the ability to use HDMI out from a DSLR so I can get a better view of the pitcher through a fence... but that's just because my kids pitch a lot. A couple of Mevo Starts for lefties / righties running through producer on a $90 tablet to SidelineHD is more than enough to keep the parents that watch these games happy, so I try to keep that in mind when upgrading my setup. If I had a more intense need, I would for sure look in the direction of something like this. Especially when the VM46's get NDI.

@@JasonHoffmanYT I think the price is completely reasonable if you make use of the horsepower there. The gym my kids go to could actually use something like this when doing their throwing. They need multiple angles simultaneously, and if this thing can play back videos it just recorded, it might be perfect.

What i need to see is how this takes 3 Mevos through NDI over great distances of roughly 60ft. And then just how well it streams when at a location with no internet so it's relying on cellular data only, whether using bonding or not. And $1500? You're lucky its that price. Up here in Canada its $2200 !! Try justifying that!!

@@JasonHoffmanYT that would be great! I'm curious how well it works and what you use for your cellular... whether you just use a sim card, tethering to your phone hotspot, or if you try bonding! And what your upload speeds are...I'm always struggling in the hockey rinks up here with a stable connection...a good signal I get 2.4mbps but it'll drop as low as 0.4 and my stream gets hung up and glitchy and everyone complains!

Nothing works. It’s Nothing but problems. Nothing works. The audio doesn’t come through. I have it plugged into my MacBook and a Rodecaster pro 2 and it doesn’t sent any volume levels over. So I plugged in a mic into Line In and the audio is extremely quiet and the everything on headphones has an echo delay. This product isn’t worth the price tag at all. Now it’s too late to return it as well. They need send to send out major massive software updates to fix this thing. It’s terrible. A big waste of almost $2,000!
