The invaders weren’t completely pushed off Sinai nobody said that but the Egyptians digged deep into Sinai during the battle of Fort Lahtzanit that’s why the thieves begged for cease fire and Israel and Egypt accepted the cease fire which was to take effect on 22 October but fighting continued past that deadline when Egyptian artillery launched a massive bombardment of Israeli positions. We Crossed Suez Canal, destroyed Bar Lev Line, established bridgeheads, repelled Israeli counteroffensives, the 2nd and 3rd armies penetrated 15 miles east of the canal and Israel penetrated 2 miles west of the canal that’s was the goal and take the rest of the land in peace treaty even Moshe Dayan said the case fire existed on paper and David Elazar the chief of Israeli headquarter staff December 3 1973 said “As for the third army in spite of our encircling them they resisted and advanced to occupy in fact a wider area of the land at the east. Thus we can not say that we defeated or conquered them” the source are Haartz ( so who won the yom kippur war ) and Wikipedia. US entered the war to save them on the fourth day of 73 the Soviets stopped helping Egypt in 1970 unlike the Israel were using the US airlift to help them at Al Arish airport. The mighty American planes carrying tanks and all modern weapons were landing everyday during the war for them and Al Arish was literally located behind the front lines.
