Victory? lol No kidding? If Israel was successful why couldn't it capture a single Egyptian city? And why did Sharon run away from Suez like a rat?! The situation for the Israelis on the West Bank was not sustainable and they were about to be surrounded themselves and this is why Egypt got Sinai back. If Israel had any leverage whatsoever it would have at least kept a part of Sinai which it couldn't do. Nice spin.

What are your reputable sources on which you base your interesting conclusions? Why would Israel want to capture a single Egyptian city and what would it do with it? Israel surrounded an entire Egyptian Army and could have destroyed it at will if it had wanted to or needed to....but who needs thousands of Egyptian soldiers to feed and guard? Why would Israel want to keep any of Sinai...only sand and Bedouin there, even no Oil.

The ar abs always win in their wars. Even if they lose they claim victory. This is why their society and countries look the way they look. Enemies of facts and logic.

@@dannyhughes4889 Why did you occupy Sinai and annex it to your map then ?? Don't shit and kid yourself! You know that our goal in that war wasn't to destroy you in the first place, especially with an old Soviet weaponry while you were given the latest US military equipment. As a matter of fact our leadership and president Sadat realized the fact that the United States, your MAMA AMERICA would always have your back anyways and sent you the greatest airlift in its history and sent the sixth fleet to the Mediterranean. So we initiated such a war that we had to wage for two things actually. One, to teach you a hard lesson and take our revenge for our pride and dignity. Two, we had to wage it in order to force you to give Sinai back from a stronger position after gaining a foothold by killing 4000 , wounding many others and capturing thousands of your soldiers and officers. Mark my words and take 'Assaf Yaguri' for example!! More importantly, the US satellites gave you the required information in regards to the positioning of the 4th Egyptian Armored unit that kept the offensive attack 20 Kilometers depth out of the SAM missiles umbrella range. That's why General Saad El Shazly opposed Sadat's decision. Be grateful because that was gifted by Sadat due to Henry Kissinger's pressure to alleviate the war against Israel which you took advantage of, but you couldn't threaten a big city like Cairo which is geographically ten times bigger than your population that time since our fortifications were strong and Sharon's divisions were small and could get outnumbered. You know Ariel Sharon's decision ended out as a wild goose chase. So you were left with no other choice but to rattle about going to Samson's option and use nukes. Sadat threatened you with our medium range missiles that were capable of destroying your cities. Plus, let me keep you posted, Sinai and Egypt in general is a resource-rich ,with many resources especially the natural gas which's been recently discovered by Chevron. It's actually a 3.5 Trillion Cubic feet of gas! So get your facts right. Unfortunately, the Syrians lost on the other side. As a result, the Syrians and Palestinians as well as Lebanese are still paying the price, given the fact they never took Sadat's advice and join Egypt in Camp David negotiations.
