You cook everything from scratch and are scrupulous with what you buy and serve for your family meals. They're just envious of you. I love your food and grocery hauls.

I'm 64 now, but I also nursed 5 babies (twins too!) and I found that those growth spurts came on the "3s", meaning: 3 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and a year. I found the best thing (and the hardest for mommies) is lots of rest, nourishing food and fluids, and most importantly: let that baby nurse as often as he/she wants. More nursing=increased milk supply. As good as pumps are nowadays, babies are still the best pumps! Nurse til he's full, and then still pump afterwards too, and help during those difficult times. And once they are on solids, nurse first when he's really hungry and then offer solids afterwards. These are just the things that helped me. You yourself being a nurse and experienced mother will figure out what works for you and your little fellow.

Sonya my biggest tip regarding milk supply is to pump 5 minutes past being empty. I nursed & pumped for my triplets and had a significant oversupply even for triplets. It can help stimulate the body to make more instead of maintaining the current or decreasing. I was so thirsty all the time I had large cups of ice water at my bedside and next to where I nursed & pumped. Best wishes to you and your sweet family. ❤

For the milk tips: drink a lot, including some beer. After 6 months, milk supply is naturally decreasing, corresponding to the time you start introducing food. It all makes sense. Go with the flow, do not worry . As for your response to comment about your food choice: brilliant. You are absolutely right: everything in moderation, once in a while is more positive than you think. American people have difficulties with “moderation” generally….

To bring your milk supply up…..let your baby nurse more often. (Or pump even when nothing is coming out, to simulate this) Even letting your baby stay latched on and use you as a comfort or to go to sleep ….It tells your body there’s a greater demand, and your body will eventually come up usually 3 to 7 days, and then you can go back to the schedule of further apart, feedings, but there will be more milk at each feeding. (mom/midwife here)

Oatmeal is a wonderful food for nursing mothers. Half a cup of oatmeal, half a cup of oat milk or almond milk, then add in raisins, berries, or nuts to taste, and refrigerate overnight. I also add a tablespoon of powdered peanut butter. You can also make it with regular milk instead of a nut milk if you prefer.

Ah! Also POWER PUMP! I see you use spectra also which is great. So twice a day do a power pump. You pump for twenty minutes then wait for ten, pump for twenty wait for ten and pump again for twenty then done. So if you're baby is still on the breast also, feed baby, wait 15 minutes then pump. This tells your body your baby is cluster feeding and in turn makes more milk. Asbfor water. I hate mayim!!!! But! Get something similar to Revive hydration. We habe it here and not sure if it is available in your country. It made me loveeee water. Alternatively. Make this and have once a day: One litre boiled water, 8 teaspoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons salt. I mix half this with a little apple or spinach, carrot and kale juice to add some flavour. Great for hydration. Also, my absolute favourite is coconut water with the Spinach, carrot and kale juice. Also hydrating, the coconut is excellent for milk supply and the greens is superfoods. Lol, can you tell i did a bunch of research this time around. 😂 My eldest son, Hoshea had major life saving abdo surgery at 6 months old so sadly i had to stop. Now with my youngest boy Shiloh i fed for a year and had a freezer stash.. unfortunately some painters unplugged the freezer and forgot to plug it back in. Hi Sonya, thanks for another video. About the milk supply - when I was feeding my kids (how time flies :o)), my doctor always told me first and foremost not to worry, make the time for being with the baby (actually literally close, hold it to me, forget about chores etc. for a while, not to overdo myself physically), breastfeed or pump regularly, so that the production is encouraged. Also, in my country there is a special herbal tea sold consisting of cumin, aniseed, melissa for feeling good and a herb called Galega officinalis (I do not know the English name, sorry). And I had to smile when you mentioned other people worrying about your kids eating snacks - I know only a few mothers who make so much home made and wholesome food as you do, so I think a few snacks now and then really do not hurt. I think on the contrary - you enjoy them together and may be this way your kids will not crave them too much. All the best :o)

I have no idea if it is studied, but I do know I was to drink the beer immediately after nursing, as not to risk any alcohol in my next feeling's supply. Obviously, it isn't enough to be intoxicated, but it seemed to work. We got over the hump & I went on to do that with each of my 4 babies if I dipped.

Try Fenugreek, Fennel or Nettle tea for your milk supply. There are a couple of teas, Mothers milk tea and Milk Maid tea. Drink lots of water! Good luck!
