I have this lens and it does ok in general. I have found "defeating the purpose of being f/1.8" that stopping down to f/4 helps it's sharpness. I haven't tested any other aspects of this lens.

Appreciate you sharing your experiences with it. I agree with you about the sharpness at F/4.

I am using this beginner level lens with my beginner level camera which d5000. With my long term experience I can simply say that this lens needs way too more light than the nikon lens does. And the fact that you mentioned about in this video, the sharpening! If you want to take some cool portrait shots I can assure you that this lens will disappoint you. Because you want to get a perfect bokeh effect and made the aperture value as low as possible which 1.8. I'm sorry guys but this lens doesn't good job with 1.8. Especially if you are a beginner, you saw the perfect photos on the Instagram and some of them was with a 50 mm lens and you said omg let's have it! And you looked to the Internet for hours to get the best price of a 50 mm lens and guess what! This lens shining right there with its godly low price. And this price is almost equals to the nikon 50mm but the d one. And you may think vaow this has autofocus, then let's buy it! Well, don't! Buy the mf nikon one. I can assure you that the manual focusing will improve you very very much. Actually, you will not like the autofocus of yongnuo already. Good lights!

Hi, sorry for the possibly a stupid question, but is it possible to attach this lens to Canon SX40HS? If yes, then what adapter should I use? I think there are some adapters for 67mm rings. What back ring size this lens has?
@LPaul3 жыл бұрын
I understand that autofocus obviously will not work, only mannual
@BoostLeekdMedia3 жыл бұрын
You won't be able to mount this lens onto the Canon SX40HS. The Canon SX40HS is not a interchangeable lens camera.

Just make sure you get the Canon Mount and not the Nikon mount.

My experience with Yongnuo is good at the beginning but at the end its very disappointing the fact that even at f2.2 the lens is very disappointing it misfocuses at the subject and I do not highly recommend this in lowlight situation. Go fo Nikkor

Hi, your subscriber here. I'm building a small Nikon system on the cheap for some reason (I am a M4/3 and Pentax user too), I just bought a D40 and a D3000 and I'll get a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 soon. Now I just need a stabilized tele, but I'd like to know if you would still consider to buy this Yongnuo if you already have the Tamron. Thanks in advance for your time!
@BoostLeekdMedia3 ай бұрын
It really depends on your type of photography. But me, personally, I would prefer the Yongnuo 50 1.8 because it fits my style of photography. The 17-50 is VERY versatile as you can zoom but I just like the quality of the 50mm 1.8.
@milkyway60803 ай бұрын
@@BoostLeekdMedia the Tamron has already been reserved for me, however I found a good deal for the Nikkor G 35mm 1.8 and I got that one too. 50mm equivalent is not my favorite focal length but I wanted something very fast too and I thought that maybe the 50mm might be a bit too restrictive. Thanks for your suggestions and for the interesting videos!

Maybe it was my copy. I did use a friend's copy and it was not this loud too. Maybe the build quality on these are not good? Or the previous owner didn't really care for it.

+ What about the quality of this lens after long time used ?? + Is it available version 2 of this lens for Nikon?
@BoostLeekdMedia3 жыл бұрын
The quality definitely isn't as good as the Nikon 50mm 1.8G BUT, if you're not concerned about pixel peeping, it does the job. The autofocus in the Yongnuo is just a bit slower as well. From what it looks like, Yongnuo has not made a 2nd version of the F/1.8 but they do have the F/1.4 version.
