Yongnuo RF 603 II-Shutter Release Wirelessly! In this video, I give a quick demo on how the Yongnuo rf 603 flash triggers double as a wireless shutter release. You can use either version, 1 or 2, to be able to trigger the cameras shutter. Just make sure you have the proper camera cord when ordering these flash triggers.

Would two of these work to trigger both the camera shutter remotely and an off camera flash remotely ( one on camera , one on flash - using the trigger button on the unit attached to the flash, to trip flash and shutter ). Or would I need a third to act just as a remote shutter release to do everything I want ?

Will 2 of these work to trigger remotely both the camera shutter and a remote off camera flash , by pressing the trigger button on the one attached to the flash , or do I need a third to just act as a remote shutter release ?

Got a pair of those flash triggers and also got the cable from my intervalometers.. although I prefer the Hähnel Giga T Pro for wireless triggering.

Hello Eric, 1- When the RF 603 II is mounted on the Camera in order to trigger a remote flash, does it need to be triggered itself by the built in flash of the camera? Or by a signal from the shoe of the camera? 2- If I DO NOT want the built in flash of the camera to open and flash, but I need only the remote flash to trigger and flash, can this be achieved? 3- Will the remote flash light intensity be also controlled? Or it will always flash to the maximum? 4- Is RF 603 II compatible with Nikon D 5300? I see D5000 and D5100 only in the compatibility list. Thank you.

1. You just need both triggers, dont need the flash 2. you can not use the built in flash 3 you control the flash from the flash unit itself 4 yes, as long as you get the Nikon version it will work

I bought 603N for Nikon d7100. I can get the shutter release to work, but can't seem to get the flash to fire. I set up the both d7100 on manual and sb910 on manual, and insert the 603(set to channel 3) onto the respective hotshoes. What am I missing?
@Eric_Rossi
@Eric_Rossi 9 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking your triggers are on different channels. Check again. Make sure both are on the same channel. Try 1 or A. Also do you have the version 1 or 2 of the triggers?

I've watched a number of videos and, before returning my RF603N II, perhaps you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I purchased the trigger solely for its remote shutter capabilities. I've followed the instructions and inserted new batteries, connected the receiver to the hot-shoe, and when I press the transmitter's shutter, the green light shines on both units. I'm assuming they are communicating. My camera doesn't attempt to focus, however, and when I fully press the shutter button, a red light appears on both units. I've connected the cable and got the same results. I've changed lenses and attempted to use the triggers in varying light settings. My camera shutter has worked manually in all cases but not when I attempt to employ the RF603N. The camera isn't communicating with these devices apparently. What am I missing? BTW. You're the only person that I've come across who has taken the time to answer these questions. Thank you for your time and help.
@Eric_Rossi

I always do my best to respond, its the least I can do for someone who took the time to interact and watch a video. Yeah the key part is the cable, what camera were you trying it with? Maybe it was just faulty but it seems like you did everything right. I would also check to see if they are on the same channel You would see two green lights when button is half pressed. Check that on the inside of the battery cover
@TheChgoJohn
@TheChgoJohn 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your quick reply... I've a Nikon D5300. There's a red label on the RF603N II box's side that says the included shutter connecting cable is good for series D5000, among others. I've checked and rechecked the channels and all are set the same. When the cable is used, a green light appears on both transmitter (TR) and receiver (TRX). When the remote shutter button is half-pushed, another green light appears on both the TR and TRX making 2 green lights on each device. When the button is fully pushed, a red light replaces a green on both the TR and TRX. When the cable isn't used, the lights remain off until I half-push the remote shutter. Then 1 light on each glows green. When I fully push the shutter, each of the 2 lights glows red. At no time does my camera attempt to focus or trigger the shutter remotely. I agree with you and believe the problem is with the cable and have ordered a new one from Amazon, where I got the unit. (Much easier to buy a cable than to return the entire thing.) If the new cable doesn't work, however, I'll be returning everything. I'm undecided whether I'll purchase another. Thanks again for your help, Eric. I'll let you know the final outcome.

Sounds like everything should be right, hmmm, hoping its just a cable thing for you as well. But yeah, I cant think of anything else. Most connection issues is when people dont realize the channel connection and matching.

Hello, Eric.The new cable arrived today. I installed it and nothing new happened. Out of desperation -- I really don't want to return now 2 packages -- I switched the devices, changing them as TX or TRX to match their new use and nothing happened. I then set them both to TRX and, lo and behold, the lens focused and the shutter clicked. I replaced the cable with the old and it did not work. Our suspicions were correct: faulty cable, although my miss-setting the TX/TRX switches didn't help matters. (I mention the TRX settings for anyone reading this down the road.) Thanks again for your help and support, Eric. You've a new fan.

However I'm trying it for the firdt time on my d610 and even though it does focus, it won't take any pictures.
