This is what I was looking for. A real life application. On that garage pitch black was perfect.

This is the best demonstration, lightl should be tested in dark places.good job.....

you may want to try another video placing the light 4ft from a subject (the size of an average head and shoulders video interview shot) and start at f5.6, 1/50th, 24fps, ISO100 and slowly increase the iso one stop at a time to show how it does in actual video at full power (a fairly reliable lighting test) that could tell us and you just how much real light it outputs.

Old video but you mounted the go pro style mount the wrong way. The beveled / rounded end would slot forward into a hot shoe. The barn doors on these lights aren't so much for cutting light. Because the panel is composed of 216 sources of light instead of one, the ray paths don't work the same way. I guess if you put the diffusion filter they might work to cut light. On my YN300 panels I mainly use the barn doors to: a- protect the bulbs when packed. b- attach colored gels or other diffusion. another thing to note is that unless you have a diffusion panel or paper on, the 216 bulbs each create their own shadow causing a weird grid like shadow pattern. Just something to keep in mind.

Doe anyone know if there is a softbox for this light?
@RohanGillett7 жыл бұрын
That seems pretty powerful for a small light. For photography, the amount of light it provides would be enough do full body shots?
@cmflippen7 жыл бұрын
I would think so. But for strictly photography, you'd probably be better served by a flash.

Nice, informative review. But for the Diffuse filter it would have been better to make a shadow hardness-softness comparison, because that's what diffusors are also important for.
@EricLefebvrePhotography6 жыл бұрын
It's also important because it helps deal with the repeating shadows caused by the multiple light sources. Each led bulb causes int's own shadows creating am ugly grid like pattern of shadows unless you use some type of diffuser to turn the entire face of the panel into one light source.

The interior panels need to be BLACK and not reflect any light so when you use it to focus on a subject. Place gaffers tape on the interior of the panels or reverse the panels. The Hollywood professional versions of these lights have black interior reflector panels..

how is the fan noise?
@cmflippen7 жыл бұрын
Audible, but not too bad. If your mic is more than one meter from the light, I don't think the recording will pick it up. The fan doesn't turn on very often either.

The lamp does not light after inserting the battery or accumulator, works after connecting to the power supply, what could be the reason?
