Thank you so much Yong for all the hard work you've put into your channel covering all the latest MGS news and starting up "the codec series" interviewing all the original voice actors from MGS. As I watch these interviews I can't help but reflect on all my very young childhood memories playing the game and falling in love with all the characters of the game. And now here we are, just a few weeks away from the final game. Its crazy how time has passed, how MGS has evolved and I as well from the six year old gamer to the 20yr old gamer with still the same passion for the games. Its so cool to finally see the faces and hear the thoughts of the actors who created these characters of a game so dear to me and played such an influential role on my life. Again thank you so much Yong for ALL of the hard work you've done for this channel, I've been following you and the channel for soooo long now. This is where I get all of my Metal Gear coverage. The most common reason for a voice actor using an alias would be to avoid union restrictions on types of work one can perform. If the actors were made to sign and NDA to not reveal who it really was would probably mean that the person who voiced the role was probably going outside another agreement to do the work. Its quite a common thing in the entertainment field (particularly music). If you do find out who the VA was, you may want to contact them first to make sure you are not going to cause trouble for them by revealing.

I feel that Johnny ended up with Meryl because they spent the whole series shitting all over him (figuratively and literally) and Kojima wanted to give him some sort of redemption. Story wise, he's been infatuated with Meryl since Shadow Moses and he's one of the few people that can actually relate to her. By the end of MGS4 Meryl has a different outlook on things and probably decides that being with someone like Johnny would be perfect for her.

They not bringing Meryl back because its 1984. No one cared that Big Boss was played by Richard Doyle and that was just because David Hayter was in MGS4. He plays the voice of Solid Snake and a young Big Boss which makes sense. Solid had an agressive aging diease, whilst Big Boss grew old more naturally. His voice would chance and i honestly think Kiefer is a better choice for Big Boss for MGSV.

I see David Hayter as the one and only voice of Snake and Big Boss. (Except for the few MGS 4 lines.) It's not like James Bond where multiple actors adapt the one character. It's because Hayter's voice from the beginning and considering the original Japanese voice actor is still retaining his role, it seems really out of place in my opinion. All I hear is Jack Bauer ahaha "WHERES THE BOMB!!!" (Jack Bauer/Big Boss talking to Paz)

MASTERJJ1995 Something tells me Kojima wants to link TPP up to MGS1 or MG1, so we'll hear Solid Snake radio in at the end. But that's certainly not the reason he chose Kiefer to be Big Boss. Hayter's voice is great, but also really over the top. I can appreciate Kojima wanting to have this very troubled Big Boss sounding gritty and expressive with few words.

Hey guys, the reason why the real name of the voice of Eva hasn't been revealed is probably because she is registered under the screen actors guild. As a screen actors guild member you can not be in non guild projects or at least your name can't. Most video games are non guild, so many actress take Pseudonyms or fake names. Even David Hayter has used a Pseudonym .

In regards to the change between David for Kiefer - I just can't help thinking about how successful (not at all) it was for the Splinter Cell franchise to change from Michael Ironside for the same stated reasons - MoCap. I think it's a dubious reason to change such an important part of a character.

They sound kind of alike, but I really think Debi Mae West's voice is so much lower/huskier than EVA's. EVA'S voice is also so much softer. I still think it's Jodi Benson. If you listen to some of the more womanly parts she's done, it's a very similar sort of voice. I dunno why Jodi Benson would need to hide that fact. I heard once that it was because of the game's content being inappropriate, and the typical fare she does being family-oriented. (Which would apply to Jodi Benson -- known primarily for her Disney stuff) The alias was also reused for Peace Walker.
