@@thatgamermatt3758 Here's a tip. Run away from the bees and only use the sonar spolsion to kill the bees after Capital Bee gets tried from ground pounding, do it before that and you'll get hit.

This boss is legitimately broken. It doesn't give you enough time to replenish your flappy flight energy and its impossible to dodge his missiles. Absolutely awful.

Tip for the 2nd phase: get ice shots, follow him around in a wide circle and keep facing him. When he fires, double jump, hover and shoot a few shots. Keep repeating and don't get too close. Don't worry about the minions as long as you keep moving.

J D They are out of context. Small parts of the game are disproportionately difficult with no preparation, especially the final boss. Having to die over and over and over again is fine for games like Dark Souls, but in a game like Yooka Laylee it is really out of place to have one boss battle harder than the entirety of the rest of the game combined. Not to mention that it’s painfully long and drawn out with no way to heal. Again, it would be fine if the rest of the game built up to it with consistent or even increasing difficulty.

Part 2 of this boss fight drove me mad, the corplets would hit me due to a collision detection error and also the second to last stage, it's so hard to kill the bees in time and avoid all the shockwaves. And then the final stage with the missile guiding, you basically have to fly and pray you hit him. This boss was brutal on me but I got my platinum. Damn you Capital B.

I found the stinger (phase 4) part to be pretty easy. You just have to judge the distance between him, yourself and stingers. I got hit by a couple but ended up completing it in my first tru after reading a guide then watching the last phase on this video.

Really hate this boss fight - Its just so extremely tedious.... that snowball part takes forever and is just so awkward considering how the game controls :I "You need to hit this flying enemy.... but you cant lock on, have time to aim or anything" so it just takes forever. Btw, no need for the high jump, you can hit his feet just by regular jump :)

NatabenOo what I did for that part is try to keep one enemy alive and make him lose interest. Then no new ones spawn and you can hit CB between every third hive bomb at your leisure.

Honestly, I find that part fairly easy. You just run around in big circles ignoring all the small enemies (they don't even get close to you). In the big circle you collect the ice-balls run towards him and spam-shoot. If you do this correctly, it should take 2 minutes :)

The second phase is so poorly designed. Trying to hit him while avoiding the mooks is bad enough, but if you miss you immediately get hit most of the time. Not only that... WHY NO HEALTH PICKUPS?!

I'm looking up the double stinger section because I simply cannot bear playing this disaster of a battle one more time. Every single thing this game attempts it fails. It commits the cardinal sin of platformers: the character isnt fun just to move. How many moments went from "oh this is gonna be cool" to "well that sucked" before you stopped expecting anything to be fun?

Having recently beaten this game for the first time, I'll share my thoughts on this boss fight. 1: Capital B isn't a wall (Rampo), stuck to a wall (Ice Square, Tentacle Eye guy), or trying to pretend that he isn't a wall/stuck to a wall (Planet girl), so he's my favorite boss purely for that reason. Seriously, what was up with this game and its wall bosses? 2. The first two phases are mostly fine: dodging the bees with the rolling move wasn't too bad, and it wasn't hard to hit Capital B after they dispersed and before he threw another beehive. I'd say the second phase was even easier than the first because you can just ignore the minions he summons, eat an icy fruit, and pelt him with snowballs while constantly running and double jumping after him meaning that both his minions and his beehives will keep missing you. However, the first phase has a weird problem where the most dangerous part is Capital B potentially plowing right through you when he changes places, hitting you with unavoidable damage unless you throw up Laylee's force field immediately after hurting him. He also has too much health in the second phase, making it drag on too long. 3. The third phase, I also don't have a problem with. While the beehives and shockwaves are overwhelming during your first playthrough, they look scarier than they actually are. As long as you keep moving and gliding, you'll be perfectly fine. Likewise, you have more than enough time to disperse the bees and hit Capital B when his cane gets stuck in the ground. 4. The fourth phase, however, definitely sucks. The meter tied to your abilities sucks in general because of how long it takes to replenish, and that causes problems when the only way you can hurt Capital B is to trick his homing missiles into hitting him by flying around his arena. Hitting him becomes a problem once he starts flying around as well, and when you're forced to land and replenish your energy meter, you're often forced to take a hit since there's just not enough time for it to replenish before you get hit by a missile. It's fake difficulty at its worst, and even when you use the Livewire Tonic you still barely have enough time to get back into the sky when Capital B fires more missiles. 5. The phase transitions... yeesh. Constantly fading to black every time you trigger another phase of the boss fight really shows how low quality this game is, and made me cringe when it first happened. 6. This is more of a problem with the game in general, but there's no real sense of impact when you attack your enemies. in Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64, hitting enemies felt great since your attacks were accompanied by a meaty "WHACK!" and an equally satisfying scream of pain. Beating up Capital B would have felt more satisfying if your tail whacks/ground pound felt heavier, and he screamed like the giant turtle from Bubblegloop Swamp, IMO. 7. Landing the final hit on Capital B. doesn't feel as satisfying as, say, getting the final hit on Gruntilda. Where's the big finish? Where's the equivalent to sending the Jinjonator after him? Blasto blasting him into that book would have been a nice enough ending if you got to deliver that final blow yourself.

Before you start the fight,get the "livewire"tonic(it's the one that replenishes your energy meter faster).In the second phase you won't even have to use any projectiles, just use the shield to hit him.You also won't have to worry about the corplets hitting you anymore.This tonic is also extremely helpful in the third phase.

I wonder if Capital B's character is not only based on Gruntilda, but also loosely based on Banjo, which is why his partner is a bird, and he is a bee (reference to bears eating honey.) Also, I wonder if Capital B is a businessman, because of how Microsoft bought out Rare and made the game mechanics way different than the original, causing it to inevitably become one of the most infamous videogames of all time.

I don't know what is up with this playthrough, but in mine, the bees definitely sting you after a couple of seconds DESPITE running away. Nothing worked to get rid of them. I am SHOCKED Laylee's scream dispels them... I dunno what is up with my game. I had to speed roll away every time just to escape them, and I had to time it so that I can get them to disappear and/or hit the boss. What I've seen this guy do hear is just mind boggling to me. Needless to say, the ooze platform stage was ridiculous!

soupe2000 yeah the game is amazing like really it brings so much nostalgia from Banjo Kazooie but as it goes for jontron I don't personally care cuz really it's not all about voicing it's about the game itself and this game doesn't suck I think people are just misunderstanding the game cuz really think about it people has been hyped for this game for months now but when they heard about jontron they just lost it I don't know about you but I didn't notice anything about jontron voice but captical b is probably my favorite villain in this game but I am curious if Playtonic/rare is gonna somehow bring back Banjo Kazooie but in remastered graphics cuz really that would be great I know Yooka Laylee is a great game but Banjo Kazooie will always be my favorite game cuz I love it so much and the charming music that you get in Yooka Laylee reminds me of the first stage in Banjo Kazooie all though I hate that you have to buy the moves but oh well I let it pass I give the game a well 10/10

I backed this game on kickstarter and I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this battle and other boss battles. I say that as a fan of banjo kazooie and other rare titles from that era. I haven't beaten this boss yet and the controls and camera angles make this fight far more difficult than it should be. never mind the multiple phases. I won't be buying their next game.

This game has some of the poorest boss design I've ever played and this boss is the worst ever. Collision detection is sooo far off it's unreal. This boss is only hard because of the bugs left in the game and it's crap design. It's ridiculous that they haven't fixed these issues with updates. Playtonic should be banned from making games from now on!!

This bossfight shows everything wrong with this game's movement system, from the clunky camera in phase 1 and 2, the shit hitboxes everywhere, the horribly coded Licking mechanic and the poorly done flying mechanic. I literally could not finish this fight because of those clanky hitboxes.

You could try getting good at the game, it's the final boss for corn sake, it is supposed to be challenging.
