@@Niroborn Because superheavyweight armwrestling and marathon running require different types of stamina, and because there's a difference between being 40 and being 70. Devon is the Conor McGregor of arm wrestling, is great at hyping up matches and trash talk. As you can see, he is not like that at all during non-competition matches or training. And when you have achieved what Devon has achieved in arm wrestling you are bound to have some arrogance. Yea, he lost to Levan, but so has everyone else.

For arm wrestling often times pros peak in their mid thirties or even later. Look at John B he’s 60 and still like 2nd best in the world
@Arrogan28
@Arrogan28 Жыл бұрын
@@constantthought6082 It really depends. With age comes injuries as well. It depends on timing on their career. For awhile Devon when he was younger in his early 30's to mid thirties he was literally the best in the world. He decimated the Europeans at that time. Including the man himself, Pushkar who was literally at the top of the european pyramid at the time. It was also when he beat John Brzenk, he was the first to do it in a supermatch. And many consider that Devon's strongest point in his career. But then he started to have injuries, and both arms basically one after the other had serious injuries, and for years he was no where near what he had been, surviving mostly on his experience, and doing the king's move when he was totally outmatched strength wise. People also don't realize that Devon was the long running American/West champion but lost to Monster Todd who pulled the King's move on him to take the Hammer that year. That was when Devon started using the King's move realizing he had to master it to make sure he never lost again, and by doing it he learned the weakness to the King's move, and now while some people claim he is still doing the king's move, He doesn't go anywhere down as far as he used to, after the criticism I think he took it to heart, and now his shoulders are far above the table, even Levan was down further then fighting Ermes. So it's all people's biases that dictate what they see regarding that kind of stuff now. But in the last few years, starting with the insanely easy win against Monster Todd who at the time said he was the strongest he had ever been. Devon made him look like levels below him. And then he fought Levan and unfortunately again injured his arm. But that injury forced Devon to try something different, and he went and got stem cell surgery, and I think he is also for the first time taking something(like GH(test, etc) cause he has never looked better physically for a decade or longer. So he is now possible nearly as strong as he was when he was considered at his career peak, and again beat John Brzenk when no one had done that before, and John was still strong. I believe Devon is now likely stronger in some areas, and still weaker in other areas. And that's due to age. Some of his tendons are yes likely stronger, his bicep is massive now, and his pronator muscles are unreal. When he pulled Levan, Levan could not break Devon's wrist in any of their pulls. Showing just how strong Devon's wrist is. Even Ermes's wrist was bent back pulling Levan whose hands and grip measurement scores are far above any other arm wrestler I have seen measured. But as you get older, some tendons are just gonna care scar tissue, and not have that young man's body elasticity, that helps prevent injuries, etc. So while i think muscle wise Devon is far stronger, tendon and ligament wise, he is mixed. For so long he couldn't even open his arms up fully, again because of his surgeries, and lose of elasticity in those connective tissue. Also the tissue between his upper arm socket bone and the bone, making for again more cramps and pains when he gets jostled, or his arm structural integrity is tested. OVerall i think he could win against Ermes, and I think it's the perfect time for both of them to have a match. Ermes now considered pretty much the guy with the crown. And Levan being out due to health. Just before Devon and Levan pulled it's funny, i have comments where I told rude Levan fans that while I admired Levan's strength, i said there is no way he will have a career that spans even 1/5 that of Devon's. Because of how much stuff he was putting into his body, similar to when Denis had complete organ failure right after pulling Devon, clearly for that match, he had taken far too much steroids and the body can't handle it long term. So Levan is similar, and we see it, because now Levan is basically out until he can get his health back. Again by taking that much sauce, the bill comes due. And for Devon he for most of his career has been clean, due to him not being able to take such drugs in the Canadian special forces, where such drugs are still considered 'illegal', and frowned upon. Given the issue with impairment of judgement, and how important the mind is considered for those forces. So I would put money on the fact that Devon was not using all through up until only like less then a Decade ago he likely started on something. But even then given how long his arms took to recover then when he was younger, compared to now when he is older. It's clear that back then he wasn't taking substances that would be illegal say in any olympic sports. But now that he almost surely is on those(aka steroids, GH, and likely some other ones for healing, etc) you can see how strong he is, and how fast he recovered after getting his bicep torn against Levan. I think for his age it is almost a must to be able to compete at the top level in the sport now. All through the 80's, 90's, it was likely possible to win, guys like John Brzenk, and Devon himself were not on steroids, and if some guys were, they were rare, and clearly back then it wasn't a substitution for skill. Now a guy like Levan, he has not only taken enough steroids to make a race horse look natural, he also has achieved a super high level of skill as well. So the complete package for a mountain of a champion. But again, by pushing his body that hard, it was obvious, at least to me, that it would not be a longer career for him at the top.... Where Devon and even more John Brzenk have been pulling at the top for like 3-4 decades... Devon for about 3 at the top of the sport, and John for about 4, which is insane when you think about it. He literally was the man back in the 80's, and he is still pulling in high level matches...

devons prime (or best strength) was right before levan. everyone who went against him said he was a wall, especially when fresh, completely unmoveable, sadly he might have pushed his limits a bit much and caused a bicep hairline tear and it tore pretty badly during levans pull, was fun to watch tho

@@Largetalons No he didn't. When I say "committed his frame" it means when he puts his arm behind his shoulder. So when Devon caught Yordan in a hook he used his frame to stonewall Yordan.
